Synthetic oil dip stain
CHARACTERISTICS AND USE:
Wood stain S1023 is intended for protective staining of soft and hard wood exposed to weather conditions, as well as for interior coatings. It protects wood from the effects of UV radiation. It contains natural oil. The wood stain deeply penetrates the wood structure, enhancing its natural grain, thus providing highly effective coatings. It is characterized by very easy renewability of the old coat. Shade 0000 - colorless is intended for interior use only!!
Examples of use: garden furniture, wooden gables, ceilings, wall and ceiling paneling, fences, cottages and wooden houses, windows, doors, cork, penetration of wooden floors.
SUBSTRATE PREPARATION:
The wood must be clean, dry, well-sanded, with a maximum moisture content of 12%, free from resin residues before application. Wood with a high resin content (larch, pine) must be freed from all resin exudations beforehand, e.g., by washing with BALTECH C6000 nitro thinner. The quality of the wood's pre-treatment affects the overall appearance of the final wood surface finish and the overall durability of the coating system.
The surface of the wood intended for outdoor use must first be soaked with an appropriate fungicide, which protects the wood against mold, fungi, and insects, e.g., with LAZUROL IMPREGNATION BASE S1033. The surface of the wood intended for indoor use should ideally be soaked with the colorless LAZUROL CLASSIC S1023 stain first. Penetrating with a colorless primer ensures even absorption of the wood substrate before further application of coatings. Subsequently, it is necessary to sand the surface of the wood with fine sandpaper and then apply the dip stain. In renovation coatings, it is necessary to remove the old non-adhering layer of wood, e.g., by sanding.
DILUTION: thinner BALTECH S6006 (especially for cleaning tools)
Theoretical coverage: 8 - 10 m²/l for one layer depending on the absorption of the substrate
WORKING PROCEDURE:
Apply with a brush after thorough mixing on the prepared substrate. The stain does not need to be diluted, it is already at application viscosity. During work, the staining lacquer must be regularly mixed. For indoor use, apply in 1 to 2 layers, while for outdoor coatings it is advisable to use three layers, but only in color shades. The colorless stain is intended for indoor coatings. Individual coats can be applied at intervals of 24 hours. For uniform enhancement of the wood grain, it is advisable to wipe off the non-absorbed varnish after 10 to 15 minutes of application using a dry brush or rag.
For large areas, always use material from the same production batch. When using the same production batch, the same color shade is guaranteed. Type, surface, and previous coating of the wood influence the final shade of the coating; hence, we recommend performing a test coat before the final application. Complaints about color shades will only be accepted if a complaint is made about the test area.
For high gloss, a dried coating made with LAZUROL CLASSIC S1023 can be topped with LAZUROL UNIVERSAL VARNISH S1002 or with a natural shade of LAZUROL GOLD S1037 stain. Floors can be overcoated with LAZUROL OUTDOOR WALKING VARNISH S1020.
Warning: Absorbent materials (rags, sawdust, paper, dust, etc.) soaked with stain must be safely disposed of, as they can self-ignite under certain circumstances.
You may find covering materials such as paper masking tape or covering films useful. Don't forget brushes and rollers.
