Synthetic oil-based impregnating glaze
CHARACTERISTICS AND USE:
Wood glaze S1023 is intended for protective glazing coatings on soft and hardwood exposed to weather conditions as well as for coatings indoors. It protects wood from the effects of UV radiation. Contains natural oil. The wood glaze deeply penetrates the structure of the wood, enhances its natural grain, thus providing highly effective coatings. It is characterized by very easy renewability of the old coating. Shade 0000 - colorless is intended for indoor use only!!
Examples of use: garden furniture, wooden shields, ceilings, wall and ceiling cladding, fences, cottages and wooden houses, windows, doors, cork, penetration of wooden floors.
SUBSTRATE PREPARATION:
Wood must be clean, dry, well-sanded, with a maximum moisture content of 12%, free from resin residues before application. Wood with a high resin content (larch, pine) must be pre-treated to remove all resin exudates, e.g., with BALTECH C6000 nitro thinner. The quality of wood preparation affects the overall appearance of the final wood finish and the overall lifespan of the coating system.
The surface of the wood intended for outdoor use must first be impregnated with a suitable fungicidal impregnation that protects the wood from fungal, mold, and insect attacks, such as LAZUROL IMPREGNATION BASE S1033. The surface of the wood intended for indoor use should first be impregnated with colorless glaze LAZUROL CLASSIC S1023. Penetration with colorless impregnator ensures uniform absorbency of the substrate before further application of coatings. Subsequently, the surface of the wood must be sanded with fine sandpaper before applying the impregnating glaze. In renovation coats, the wood must be stripped of old non-adherent layers, e.g., by sanding.
DILUTION: thinner BALTECH S6006 (especially for cleaning tools)
Theoretical coverage: 8 - 10 m²/l per coat depending on substrate absorbency
WORKING PROCEDURE:
Apply with a brush after thorough mixing on the prepared substrate. The glaze does not need to be diluted, it is already at application viscosity. During work, the glazing paint must be regularly stirred. For indoor use, it is applied in 1 to 2 layers; for outdoor coatings, it is advisable to use three layers but only in color shades. Colorless glaze is intended for interior coatings. Individual coats can be applied at intervals of 24 hours. To uniformly enhance the wood grain, any excess glaze should be wiped off with a dry brush or cloth 10 to 15 minutes after application.
For continuous areas, always use material from the same batch. Using the same batch guarantees the same color shade. The type, surface, and previous coating of the wood affect the final coating shade; therefore, it is recommended to conduct a test coat before final application. Claims for color shades will only be honored in cases where a test area has been claimed.
For a high gloss finish, the dried coating made with LAZUROL CLASSIC S1023 can be overcoated with LAZUROL UNIVERSAL VARNISH S1002 or a natural shade of LAZUROL GOLD S1037 glaze. Floors can be repainted with LAZUROL OUTDOOR WALKABLE VARNISH S1020.
Warning: Absorbent materials (rags, sawdust, papers, dust, etc.) soaked with glaze must be safely disposed of as they can self-ignite under certain circumstances.
You may need covering materials like masking tape or protective film. Don’t forget brushes and rollers.
