Synthetic oil-based impregnating glaze

CHARACTERISTICS AND USE:

Wood glaze S1023 is designed for protective glazing coatings on soft and hard wood exposed to weather conditions as well as for coatings in interiors. It protects wood from the effects of UV radiation. It contains natural oil. The wood glaze penetrates deeply into the structure of the wood, enhancing its natural grain and thus providing highly effective coatings. It is characterized by very easy renewability of the old coating. Shade 0000 - colorless is intended only for indoor use!!

Examples of use: garden furniture, wooden shields, ceilings, wall and ceiling paneling, fences, cabins and wooden houses, windows, doors, cork, penetration of wooden floors.

SUBSTRATE PREPARATION:

The wood must be clean, dry, well-sanded, with a maximum moisture of 12%, free of resin residues before application. Wood with a high resin content (larch, pine) must be completely freed from resin exudates, e.g., by washing with BALTECH C6000 thinner. The quality of the wood's pre-treatment determines the overall appearance of the final wood surface finish and also the overall lifespan of the coating system.

The surface of the wood intended for outdoor use must first be impregnated with a suitable fungicidal impregnator that protects the wood against mold, fungi, and insects, e.g., with LAZUROL IMPREGNATING BASE S1033. The surface of the wood intended for indoor use is preferably first impregnated with colorless glaze LAZUROL CLASSIC S1023. Penetration with a colorless impregnator ensures uniform absorbency of the substrate before further application of the coatings. Subsequently, the wood surface must be sanded with fine sandpaper, and only then is it necessary to apply the impregnating glaze. In renovation coatings, it is essential to remove the old non-adhering layer of wood, e.g., by sanding.

DILUTION: thinner BALTECH S6006 (especially for cleaning tools)

Theoretical coverage: 8 - 10 m²/l per coat depending on the absorbency of the substrate

WORKING PROCEDURE:

It is applied with a brush after thorough mixing onto the prepared substrate. The glaze does not need to be diluted; it is already at application viscosity. During work, the glazing varnish must be regularly mixed. For indoor use, it is applied in 1 to 2 coats, for outdoor coatings, it is advisable to use three coats, but only with colored shades. Colorless glaze is intended for application indoors. Individual coatings can be applied at intervals of 24 hours. To uniformly enhance the grain of the wood, it is advisable to wipe off the unabsorbed varnish after 10 to 15 minutes of application using a dry brush or cloth.

For solid surfaces, always choose coating from the same production batch, which ensures a uniform color tone. The final shade is influenced by the type of wood, the condition of the surface, and any previous coating; therefore, it is recommended to conduct a test application before the overall application. Complaints regarding color shade can only be accepted based on the test area.
To achieve a high gloss finish, the dried surface treated with LAZUROL CLASSIC S1023 can be coated with LAZUROL UNIVERSAL VARNISH S1002 or the natural shade of LAZUROL GOLD S1037 glaze. For coating floors, LAZUROL OUTDOOR FLOOR VARNISH S1020 can be used.

Warning: Absorbent materials (rags, sawdust, papers, dust, etc.) soaked with glaze must be safely disposed of, as they can self-ignite under certain circumstances.

When working, you will appreciate protective materials such as paper adhesive tape or protective film. Don't forget brushes and rollers.
