Synthetic oil-based penetrating stain

CHARACTERISTICS AND USE:

Wood stain S1023 is designed for protective stain coatings of soft and hardwood exposed to weather conditions as well as for interior coatings. It protects wood from the effects of UV radiation. It contains natural oil. The wood stain deeply penetrates into the structure of the wood, enhances its natural grain, and thus provides highly effective coatings. It is characterized by very easy renewability of the old coating. Shade 0000 - colorless is intended for interior use only!!

Examples of use: garden furniture, wooden cladding, ceilings, wall and ceiling paneling, fences, cottages and wooden houses, windows, doors, cork, penetration of wooden floors.

SUBSTRATE PREPARATION:

Wood must be clean, dry, well-sanded, with a maximum moisture content of 12%, free from resin residues before application. Wood with high resin content (larch, pine) must be free from all resin exudates beforehand, e.g., by washing with BALTECH C6000 thinner. The quality of the wood pretreatment affects the overall appearance of the final surface treatment of the wood and also the overall lifespan of the coating system.

The surface of the wood intended for outdoor use must first be treated with an appropriate fungicidal impregnator that provides protection against mold, fungi, and insects, e.g., with LAZUROL IMPREGNATION BASE S1033. The surface of the wood intended for indoor use is suitable first to be treated with colorless stain LAZUROL CLASSIC S1023. Penetration with a colorless impregnator ensures uniform absorption of the substrate before applying other coatings. Subsequently, the surface of the wood must be sanded with fine sandpaper, and only then should the penetrating stain be applied. In renovation coatings, it is necessary to remove the old non-adherent layer of paint, e.g., by sanding.

DILUTION: thinner BALTECH S6006 (especially for cleaning tools)

Theoretical coverage: 8 - 10 m²/l per layer depending on substrate absorbency

WORKING PROCEDURE:

It is applied with a brush after thorough mixing onto the prepared substrate. The stain does not need to be diluted, it is already at application viscosity. During work, the staining varnish should be regularly mixed. For indoor use, it is applied in 1 to 2 layers, for outdoor coatings it is advisable to use three layers, but only with colored shades. The colorless stain is intended for indoor coatings. Individual coatings can be applied at intervals of 24 hours. To uniformly enhance the wood grain, it is advisable to wipe the non-absorbed varnish after 10 to 15 minutes of application with a dry brush or cloth.

For continuous surfaces, always choose the coating material from the same production batch, which guarantees identical shade. The final appearance depends on the type, condition of the substrate, and the original coating of the wood; therefore, we recommend carrying out a test coating before starting work. Claims regarding color shades can only be made for the test area.
In case of a request for high gloss, the dried coat of LAZUROL CLASSIC S1023 stain can be overcoated with LAZUROL UNIVERSAL VARNISH S1002 or a natural tone of stain LAZUROL GOLD S1037. For floor coatings, use LAZUROL OUTDOOR WALKING VARNISH S1020.

Warning: Absorbent materials (rags, sawdust, papers, dust, etc.) soaked with stain must be disposed of safely, as they may self-ignite under certain circumstances.

When working, you can also use covering materials, such as paper adhesive tape or covering film. Brushes and rollers will also come in handy.
