Synthetic oil impregnating stain
CHARACTERISTICS AND USE:
Wood stain S1023 is designed for protective staining of soft and hard wood exposed to weather conditions as well as for coatings in interiors. It protects wood from the effects of UV radiation. It contains natural oil. The wood stain penetrates deeply into the wood structure, enhances its natural grain, and thus provides highly effective coatings. It is characterized by very easy renewability of the old coating. Shade 0000 - colorless is intended only for indoor use!!
Examples of use: garden furniture, wooden facades, ceilings, wall cladding, fences, cabins and wooden houses, windows, doors, cork, penetration of wooden floors.
SUBSTRATE PREPARATION:
Wood must be clean, dry, well-sanded, with a moisture content of max. 12%, free from resin residues before application. Wood with a high resin content (larch, pine) must be freed from all resin exudates beforehand, e.g., by washing with nitro thinner BALTECH C6000. The quality of the wood pre-treatment affects the overall appearance of the final wood finish and also the overall lifespan of the coating system.
The surface of the wood intended for outdoor use must first be impregnated with a suitable fungicidal impregnation that ensures protection against mold, fungi, and insects, e.g., the preparation LAZUROL IMPREGNATING BASE S1033. The surface of the wood intended for indoor use is best first impregnated with the colorless stain LAZUROL CLASSIC S1023. Penetration with colorless impregnation ensures uniform absorbency of the substrate before further application of coatings. Subsequently, the surface of the wood must be lightly sanded, and only then should the impregnating stain be applied. During renovation coatings, it is necessary to remove the old non-adhering layer, e.g., by sanding.
DILUTION: thinner BALTECH S6006 (especially for cleaning tools)
Theoretical yield: 8 - 10 m²/l for one coat depending on the absorbency of the substrate
WORK PROCEDURE:
Apply with a brush after thorough mixing on the pre-prepared substrate. The stain does not need to be diluted, as it is already in applicative viscosity. During work, it is necessary to regularly stir the stain. For indoor use, it is applied in 1 to 2 layers; for outdoor coatings, it is advisable to use three layers, but only in colored shades. The colorless stain is intended for coatings in interiors. Individual coatings can be applied at intervals of 24 hours. For uniform enhancement of the wood grain, it is advisable to wipe off any unabsorbed stain after 10 to 15 minutes from application with a dry brush or cloth.Always use material from the same production batch for cohesive areas. By using the same production batch, the same color shade is guaranteed. The type, surface, and previous coating of the wood affect the final shade of the coating; therefore, it is recommended to perform a test coat before the final application. Complaints regarding color shades will be accepted only with a complaint on the test area.
For a high gloss finish, the dried coating made with the LAZUROL CLASSIC S1023 stain can be overcoated with LAZUROL UNIVERSAL VARNISH S1002 or with a natural shade of the LAZUROL GOLD S1037 stain. Floors can be overcoated with LAZUROL OUTDOOR WALKABLE VARNISH S1020.
Warning: Absorbent materials (rags, sawdust, papers, dust, etc.) soaked with stain must be disposed of safely, as they can self-ignite under certain conditions.
You may need covering materials, such as paper adhesive tape or covering foil. Don't forget brushes and rollers.
