CHARACTERISTICS AND USE:

Wood glaze S1023 is intended for protective glazing coatings on soft and hardwood exposed to weather conditions and for coatings indoors. It protects wood from the effects of UV radiation. It contains natural oil. The wood glaze penetrates deeply into the wood structure, accentuating its natural grain and thereby providing highly effective coatings. It features very easy renewability of the old coating. Shade 0000 - colorless is intended only for indoor use!!

Examples of use: garden furniture, wooden shields, ceilings, wall and ceiling cladding, fences, cabins and wooden houses, windows, doors, cork, penetration of wooden floors.

SUBSTRATE PREPARATION:

The wood must be clean, dry, well-sanded, with a maximum moisture content of 12%, free of resin residues before application. Wood with a high resin content (larch, pine) must have all resin exudations removed beforehand, e.g., by washing with BALTECH C6000 thinner. The quality of the wood pre-treatment affects the overall appearance of the final wood finish and also the overall lifespan of the coating system.

The surface of the wood intended for the exterior must first be treated with a suitable fungicidal impregnating agent that provides protection against mold, fungi and insects, e.g., with LAZUROL IMPREGNATING BASE S1033. The surface of the wood intended for the interior is best first treated with the colorless glaze LAZUROL CLASSIC S1023. The penetration of the colorless impregnating agent ensures uniform absorbency of the substrate for further application of coating materials. Subsequently, it is necessary to sand the surface of the wood with fine sandpaper and then apply the impregnation glaze. When renovating, the wood must be stripped of the old non-adhering layer, e.g., by sanding.

DILUTION: thinner BALTECH S6006 (especially for cleaning tools)

Theoretical coverage: 8 - 10 m²/l for one coat depending on the absorbency of the substrate

WORKING PROCEDURE:

Apply with a brush after thorough mixing on the prepared substrate. The glaze does not need to be diluted; it is already at application viscosity. During work, it is necessary to regularly mix the glazing lacquer. For indoor use, it is applied in 1 to 2 layers; for outdoor coatings, it is advisable to use three layers, but only in colored shades. The colorless glaze is intended for interior coatings. Individual coats can be applied at intervals of 24 hours. To uniformly enhance the wood grain, it is advisable to wipe the unabsorbed lacquer after 10 to 15 minutes of application with a dry brush or cloth.

For contiguous surfaces, always apply the product from the same production batch, which guarantees the same color shade. The type, condition of the surface, and original wood coating influence the final shade, so it is recommended to perform a test coating before total application. Claims regarding color shades will be accepted only with complaints about the test area.
To achieve high gloss, the dried coating can be overcoated with LAZUROL CLASSIC S1023 glaze or the natural shade of LAZUROL GOLD S1037 glaze. Floor areas can be overcoated with LAZUROL OUTDOOR WALK-ON VARNISH S1020.

Warning: Absorbent materials (rags, sawdust, papers, dust, etc.) soaked with glaze must be safely disposed of, as they can self-ignite under certain circumstances.

Covering material, such as paper masking tape or covering foil, may be useful. Also, remember to have brushes and rollers.
