Synthetic oil wood impregnation stain
CHARACTERISTICS AND USE:
Wood stain S1023 is intended for protective staining of soft and hard woods exposed to weather effects as well as for interior coatings. It protects the wood from UV radiation. Contains natural oil. The wood stain deeply penetrates the wood structure, enhancing its natural grain and therefore providing highly effective coatings. It features very easy renewability of the old coating. Shade 0000 - colorless is intended only for indoor use!!
Examples of use: garden furniture, wooden shutters, ceilings, wall and ceiling paneling, fences, cabins and wooden houses, windows, doors, cork, penetration of wooden floors.
SUBSTRATE PREPARATION:
The wood must be clean, dry, well-sanded, with a maximum moisture content of 12%, and free of resin residues prior to application. Wood with high resin content (larch, pine) must be pre-treated to remove all resin exudates, for example by washing with BALTECH C6000 thinner. The quality of the wood pre-treatment affects the overall appearance of the final wood finish and also the overall lifespan of the coating system.
The surface of the wood intended for outdoor use must first be impregnated with a suitable fungicidal impregnator that ensures protection against mold, fungi, and insects, for example, with LAZUROL IMPREGNATING BASE S1033. The surface of the wood intended for indoor use is recommended to be initially impregnated with colorless stain LAZUROL CLASSIC S1023. The penetration with colorless impregnator ensures uniform absorbency of the substrate before further application of coating materials. Subsequently, the wood surface must be sanded with fine sandpaper, and only then should the impregnation stain be applied. For renovation coatings, the wood must be stripped of old non-adhering layers, e.g., by sanding.
DILUTION: thinner BALTECH S6006 (especially for cleaning tools)
Theoretical coverage: 8 - 10 m²/l for one coat depending on substrate absorbency
APPLICATION PROCEDURE:
It is applied with a brush after thorough mixing on the prepared substrate. The stain does not need to be diluted, it is already at application viscosity. During work, it is necessary to regularly stir the glazing lacquer. For indoor use, it is applied in 1 to 2 layers, for outdoor coatings it is advisable to use three layers, but only in colored shades. The colorless stain is intended for indoor applications. Individual coatings can be applied at intervals of 24 hours. To uniformly enhance the wood grain, it is advisable to wipe off any unfixed lacquer after 10 to 15 minutes of application using a dry brush or cloth. For continuous areas, always use material from one production batch. When using the same production batch, the same color shade is guaranteed. The type, surface, and previous coating of the wood affect the final shade of the coating; therefore, it is recommended to perform a test application before the final application. Complaints about color shades will only be recognized when filing a complaint about the test area.
For high gloss, the dried coating applied with LAZUROL CLASSIC S1023 can be overcoated with LAZUROL UNIVERSAL VARNISH S1002 or natural shade of the stain LAZUROL GOLD S1037. Floors can be overcoated with LAZUROL OUTDOOR WALKABLE VARNISH S1020.
Warning: Absorbent materials (rags, sawdust, papers, dust, etc.) soaked with stain must be disposed of safely as they may self-ignite under certain circumstances.
You may find covering material, such as paper adhesive tape or covering film useful. Don’t forget about brushes and rollers.
