CHARACTERISTICS AND USE:

Wood stain S1023 is intended for protective staining coatings for both soft and hardwoods, exposed to weather conditions, as well as for coatings in interiors. It protects wood from the effects of UV radiation. It contains natural oil. The wood stain deeply penetrates the structure of the wood, enhances its natural grain, thereby providing highly effective coatings. It features very easy recoverability of the old coat. Shade 0000 - colorless is intended for interior use only!!

Examples of use: garden furniture, wooden gables, ceilings, wall and ceiling cladding, fences, cabins and wooden houses, windows, doors, cork, penetration of wooden floors.

SUBSTRATE PREPARATION:

Before application, the wood substrate must be dry, clean, properly sanded, free of resin residues, and have a moisture content of no more than 12%. For woods with a higher resin content (pine, larch), any resin exudations must be removed in advance, for example, by washing with BALTECH C6000 thinner. The level of substrate preparation directly influences the final appearance of the surface and the overall durability of the entire coating system.

The wooden substrate intended for outdoor use should first be treated with a suitable fungicidal impregnation to protect the wood from fungal, mold, and insect attacks, such as LAZUROL IMPREGNATION BASE S1033. In interiors, it is advisable first to soak the wood with the colorless shade of LAZUROL CLASSIC S1023 stain. Application of the colorless impregnator will unify the absorbency of the substrate before applying additional coats. After that, the surface must be lightly sanded, and only then should the soaking stain be applied. In the case of renovations, remove any original non-adhering layers from the wood, for instance, by sanding.

DILUTION: thinner BALTECH S6006 (especially for cleaning tools)

Theoretical coverage: 8 - 10 m²/l per coat, depending on the absorbency of the substrate

WORK PROCEDURE:

Apply with a brush after thorough mixing on the pre-prepared substrate. The stain does not need to be diluted; it is already at application viscosity. During work, it is necessary to mix the staining lacquer regularly. For indoor use, it is applied in 1 to 2 layers; for outdoor coatings, it is advisable to use three layers, but only in colored shades. The colorless stain is intended for interior coatings. Individual coats can be applied at intervals of 24 hours. To uniformly enhance the wood grain, any excess lacquer should be wiped off with a dry brush or cloth 10 to 15 minutes after application.

For large areas, always select the coating material from the same production batch, which ensures a consistent color shade. The final tone is influenced by the type of wood, the condition of the surface, and previous coatings; therefore, prior to overall application, we recommend conducting a test coat. Any complaints regarding color shade may only be acknowledged based on the test area.
To achieve a high gloss, the dry coat with LAZUROL CLASSIC S1023 can be overcoated with LAZUROL UNIVERSAL VARNISH S1002 or with a natural shade of LAZUROL GOLD S1037 stain. For floors, LAZUROL OUTDOOR WALKABLE VARNISH S1020 can be used.

Warning: Absorbent materials (rags, sawdust, papers, dust, etc.) soaked with the stain must be disposed of safely, as they can self-ignite under certain conditions.

When working, you will appreciate covering accessories, such as protective films or paper adhesive tapes. Do not forget to use suitable rollers and brushes.
