Synthetic oil wood stain

CHARACTERISTICS AND USE:

Wood stain S1023 is intended for protective staining of soft and hard woods exposed to weather influences as well as for interior applications. It protects the wood from the effects of UV radiation. It contains natural oil. The wood stain deeply penetrates the structure of the wood, emphasizes its natural grain and thus provides highly effective coatings. It features very easy renewability of the old coating. Shade 0000 - colorless is intended for indoor use only!!

Examples of use: garden furniture, wooden gables, ceilings, wall cladding, fences, cabins, and wooden houses, windows, doors, cork, penetration of wooden floors.

SUBSTRATE PREPARATION:

The wood must be clean, dry, well-sanded, with a moisture content of max. 12%, free of resin residues before application. Wood with a high resin content (larch, pine) must be pre-treated to remove all resin exudations, e.g., by washing with nitro solvent BALTECH C6000. The quality of the wood pre-treatment affects the overall appearance of the final wood surface finishing and also the overall durability of the coating system.

The surface of the wood intended for outdoor use must first be impregnated with a suitable fungicidal impregnator, which protects the wood against fungal, mold, and insect attacks, e.g., with the product LAZUROL IMPREGNATION BASE S1033. The surface of the wood intended for indoor use should first be treated with colorless stain LAZUROL CLASSIC S1023. Penetration with colorless impregnator ensures uniform absorption of the substrate by the wood before further application of coatings. Subsequently, the wood surface must be sanded with fine sandpaper and only then apply the wood stain. When renovating coatings, it is necessary to remove the old non-adherent layer, e.g., by sanding.

DILUTION: solvent BALTECH S6006 (especially for cleaning tools)

Theoretical coverage: 8 - 10 m²/l per coat depending on substrate absorption

APPLICATION PROCEDURE:

Apply with a brush after thorough mixing on the pre-prepared substrate. It is not necessary to dilute the wood stain as it is already at the application viscosity. During work, the stain should be regularly stirred. For indoor use, apply in 1 to 2 coats, for outdoor applications it is advisable to use three coats, but only in colored shades. The colorless stain is intended for interior coatings. Individual coats can be applied at intervals of 24 hours. To uniformly enhance the grain of the wood, the non-absorbed stain should be wiped off after 10 to 15 minutes with a dry brush or cloth.

Always use material from the same production batch for contiguous areas. If the same production batch is used, the same color shade is guaranteed. The type, surface, and previous coating of the wood influence the final color of the coating, so we recommend performing a test coat before the final application. Complaints about color shades will only be recognized if a complaint is made about the test area.
For a high gloss finish, the dried coating made with LAZUROL CLASSIC S1023 can be top-coated with LAZUROL UNIVERSAL VARNISH S1002 or with the natural shade of wood stain LAZUROL GOLD S1037. Floors can be re-coated with LAZUROL OUTDOOR WALKING VARNISH S1020.

Warning: Absorbent materials (rags, sawdust, paper, dust, etc.) soaked with stain must be disposed of safely, as they can self-ignite under certain conditions.

You may find covering materials such as paper masking tape or covering film useful. Don’t forget brushes and rollers.
