Synthetic oil-based impregnation stain

CHARACTERISTICS AND USE:

Wood stain S1023 is intended for protective staining coats of soft and hard wood exposed to weather conditions as well as for interior coatings. It protects wood from the effects of UV radiation. It contains natural oil. The wood stain penetrates deeply into the wood structure, enhancing its natural grain and thus providing highly effective coatings. It is characterized by very easy refurbishing of the old coating. Shade 0000 - colorless is only intended for indoor use!!

Examples of use: garden furniture, wooden gables, ceilings, wall and ceiling cladding, fences, cottages and wooden houses, windows, doors, cork, penetration of wooden floors.

SUBSTRATE PREPARATION:

Wood must be clean, dry, well-sanded, with a moisture content of max. 12%, and free from resin residues before application. Wood with increased resin content (larch, pine) must be cleaned of all resin exudates in advance, for example by washing with BALTECH C6000 thinner. The quality of the wood pre-treatment affects the overall appearance of the final wood surface finish and also the overall durability of the coating system.

The surface of the wood intended for outdoor use must first be treated with a suitable fungicidal impregnant that protects the wood from fungal, mold, and insect infestation, such as LAZUROL IMPREGNATION BASE S1033. The surface of the wood intended for indoor use is preferably treated first with colorless stain LAZUROL CLASSIC S1023. The penetration with the colorless impregnant ensures uniform absorbency of the substrate in preparation for further applications of coatings. Afterwards, the wood surface must be sanded with fine sandpaper, and only then should the impregnation stain be applied. For renovation coatings, the wood must be stripped of the old non-adhering layer, for example by sanding.

DILUTION: thinner BALTECH S6006 (especially for cleaning tools)

Theoretical coverage: 8 - 10 m²/l for one coat depending on the absorbency of the substrate

WORKING PROCEDURE:

Apply with a brush after thorough mixing on a pre-prepared substrate. The stain does not need to be diluted, it is already at application viscosity. During work, the glazing lacquer must be regularly stirred. For indoor use, apply in 1 to 2 coats, for outdoor coatings it is advisable to use three coats, but only with colored shades. The colorless stain is intended for indoor applications. Individual coats can be applied at intervals of 24 hours. To uniformly enhance the wood grain, it is recommended to wipe off the non-absorbed lacquer after 10 to 15 minutes of application using a dry brush or cloth.

For cohesive areas, always use material from the same production batch. When using the same production batch, a consistent color shade is guaranteed. The type, surface, and previous coating of the wood affect the final shade of the coating, so it is recommended to perform a test coat before final application. Claims for color shades will only be accepted with a claim for the test area.
For high gloss, the dried coating made with the LAZUROL CLASSIC S1023 stain can be overcoated with LAZUROL UNIVERSAL VARNISH S1002 or with a natural shade of LAZUROL GOLD S1037 stain. Floors can be overcoated with LAZUROL OUTDOOR WALKING VARNISH S1020.

Warning: Absorbent materials (rags, sawdust, papers, dust, etc.) soaked with stain must be disposed of safely, as they can ignite spontaneously under certain conditions.

You may need covering material such as paper masking tape or covering foil. Don’t forget your brushes and rollers.
