Synthetic oil impregnation stain
CHARACTERISTICS AND USE:
Wood stain S1023 is intended for protective staining coatings on soft and hardwoods exposed to weather conditions as well as for coatings in interiors. It protects wood from the effects of UV radiation. It contains natural oil. The wood stain penetrates deeply into the structure of the wood, enhancing its natural grain and thereby providing highly effective coatings. It is characterized by very easy renewability of the old coating. Shade 0000 - colorless is intended for interior use only!!
Examples of use: garden furniture, wooden panels, ceilings, wall cladding and ceilings, fences, cottages and wooden cabins, windows, doors, cork, penetration of wooden floors.
SUBSTRATE PREPARATION:
Wood must be clean, dry, well-sanded, with a moisture content of a maximum of 12%, and free of resin residues before application. Wood with an increased resin content (larch, pine) must be free of all resin exudations beforehand, for example, by rinsing with nitro thinning agent BALTECH C6000. The quality of the wood's pretreatment affects the overall appearance of the final wood surface treatment and the overall lifespan of the coating system.
The surface of wood intended for outdoor use must first be treated with an appropriate fungicidal impregnation agent, which ensures protection of the wood against fungal, mold, and insect attacks, e.g., LAZUROL IMPREGNATING BASE S1033. The surface of the wood intended for interior use should first be treated with a colorless stain LAZUROL CLASSIC S1023. Penetration with a colorless impregnation ensures uniform absorbency of the substrate before further application of coatings. Subsequently, the surface of the wood must be sanded with fine sandpaper and only then the impregnation stain should be applied. When renovating coatings, it is essential to remove the old non-adhering layer, e.g., by sanding.
DILUTION: thinner BALTECH S6006 (especially for cleaning tools)
Theoretical coverage: 8 - 10 m²/l per layer depending on the absorbency of the substrate
WORKING PROCEDURE:
Apply with a brush after thorough mixing on the previously prepared substrate. The stain does not need to be diluted; it is already at application viscosity. During work, the glazing varnish must be regularly stirred. For indoor use, it is applied in 1 to 2 layers; for outdoor coatings, it is advisable to use three layers, but only in color shades. The colorless stain is intended for interior coatings. Individual coats can be applied at intervals of 24 hours. For uniform enhancement of the wood's grain, it is advisable to wipe off the non-absorbed varnish after 10 to 15 minutes from application with a dry brush or cloth.Always use material from the same production batch for coherent surfaces. By using the same production batch, the same color shade is guaranteed. The type, surface, and previous coating of the wood influence the final color shade of the coating, so it is recommended to carry out a test coating before the final application. Complaints regarding color shades will only be recognized if the complaint comes from the test area.
For a high gloss finish, the dried coating applied with the LAZUROL CLASSIC S1023 stain can be covered with LAZUROL UNIVERSAL VARNISH S1002 or the natural shade of LAZUROL GOLD S1037 stain. Floors can be repainted with LAZUROL OUTDOOR FOOT TRAFFIC VARNISH S1020.
Warning: Absorbent materials (rags, sawdust, paper, dust, etc.) soaked with the stain must be disposed of safely, as they may spontaneously ignite under certain circumstances.
You may need covering materials, such as paper masking tape or covering foil. Don’t forget brushes and rollers.
