CHARACTERISTICS AND USE:

Wood stain S1023 is intended for protective coating applications on soft and hardwood, exposed to weather effects as well as for interior coatings. It protects wood from UV radiation effects. It contains natural oil. The wood stain deeply penetrates the wood structure, enhances its natural grain, thus providing highly effective coatings. It is characterized by very easy renewability of the old coating. Shade 0000 - colorless is intended for indoor use only!!

Examples of use: garden furniture, wooden shields, ceilings, wall and ceiling paneling, fences, cottages, and wooden houses, windows, doors, cork, penetration of wooden floors.

SUBSTRATE PREPARATION:

Wood must be clean, dry, well-sanded, with a moisture content of max. 12%, free from resin residues before application. Wood with a high resin content (larch, pine) must be free of any resin exudates, for example, by washing with nitro thinner BALTECH C6000. The quality of the wood's pretreatment affects the overall appearance of the final wood finish and also the overall lifespan of the coating system.

The surface of the wood intended for outdoor use must first be impregnated with a suitable fungicidal impregnant that protects the wood against mold, fungi, and insects, for example, using LAZUROL IMPREGNATION BASE S1033. The surface of the wood intended for indoor use is best first impregnated with colorless stain LAZUROL CLASSIC S1023. Penetration with a colorless impregnating agent ensures uniform absorption of the substrate before further application of the coatings. Subsequently, it is necessary to sand the surface of the wood with fine sandpaper and only then apply the impregnating stain. In renovation coatings, it is necessary to remove the old non-adhering layer of wood, e.g., by sanding.

DILUTION: thinner BALTECH S6006 (especially for cleaning tools)

Theoretical coverage: 8 - 10 m²/l per coat depending on the absorption of the substrate

APPLICATION PROCEDURE:

It is applied with a brush after thorough mixing onto the pre-prepared substrate. The stain does not need to be diluted, it is already at application viscosity. During work, the staining varnish must be regularly stirred. For indoor use, it is applied in 1 to 2 coats; for outdoor coatings, it is advisable to use three coats, but only in colored tones. The colorless stain is intended for interior coatings. Individual coats can be applied at intervals of 24 hours. To uniformly enhance the wood grain, it is advisable to wipe off any unabsorbed varnish after 10 to 15 minutes of application using a dry brush or cloth.

For large areas, always apply the product from the same batch to ensure a uniform color tone. The type of wood, its surface, and the original coating influence the final shade, so it is recommended to carry out a test coating before broad application. Claims for color shade can only be accepted based on the test area.
To achieve a high gloss, the dried coating created with the stain LAZUROL CLASSIC S1023 can be covered with LAZUROL UNIVERSAL VARNISH S1002 or with the natural shade of the stain LAZUROL GOLD S1037. LAZUROL OUTDOOR FLOOR VARNISH S1020 can be applied to floors.

Warning: Absorbent materials (rags, sawdust, paper, dust, etc.) soaked with the stain must be disposed of safely as they may spontaneously ignite under certain circumstances.

While working, you'll appreciate covering tools such as paper tape or covering film. Don’t forget brushes and rollers.
