Synthetic oil impregnating stain
CHARACTERISTICS AND USE:
Wood stain S1023 is intended for protective staining of both soft and hard wood exposed to weather influences, as well as for indoor applications. It protects wood from the effects of UV radiation. It contains natural oil. Wood stain penetrates deeply into the structure of the wood, highlights its natural grain, thus providing highly effective coatings. It is characterized by very easy renewability of the old coating. Shade 0000 - colorless is intended for indoor use only!!
Examples of use: garden furniture, wooden gables, ceilings, wall and ceiling paneling, fences, cottages and wooden houses, windows, doors, cork, wood floor priming.
SUBSTRATE PREPARATION:
The wood must be clean, dry, well-sanded, with a moisture content of max. 12%, free from resin residues before application. Wood with increased resin content (larch, pine) must be completely freed from all resin exudates, e.g., by washing with BALTECH C6000 thinner. The quality of the wood pre-treatment affects the overall appearance of the final wood finish and the overall durability of the coating system.
The surface of the wood intended for outdoor use must first be treated with a suitable fungicidal impregnator that ensures protection against mold, fungi, and insects, e.g., with LAZUROL IMPREGNATION BASE S1033. The surface of the wood intended for indoor use is first recommended to be treated with colorless stain LAZUROL CLASSIC S1023. Penetration with colorless impregnator ensures uniform absorbency of the substrate before applying coating materials. Subsequently, the surface of the wood must be sanded with fine sandpaper before applying the impregnating stain. In renovation coatings, it is essential to remove the old non-adherent layer from the wood, e.g., by sanding.
DILUTION: thinner BALTECH S6006 (especially for cleaning tools)
Theoretical coverage: 8 - 10 m²/l for one layer depending on the absorbency of the substrate
WORK PROCEDURE:
It is applied with a brush after thorough mixing onto the pre-prepared substrate. There is no need to dilute the stain, as it is already at application viscosity. During work, the staining varnish needs to be regularly mixed. For indoor use, apply in 1 to 2 layers; for outdoor coatings, it is advisable to use three layers, but only with colored shades. The colorless stain is intended for indoor applications. Individual layers can be applied in intervals of 24 hours. To uniformly enhance the wood grain, it is advisable to wipe off the non-absorbed varnish after 10 to 15 minutes of application using a dry brush or cloth.
Always use material from one production batch for continuous surfaces. When using the same production batch, a consistent color shade is guaranteed. The type, surface, and previous coating of the wood influence the final color shade, so it is recommended to perform a test coat before final application. Complaints about color shades will only be accepted in relation to the complaint of the test area.
For high gloss, the dried coating made with LAZUROL CLASSIC S1023 can be coated with LAZUROL UNIVERSAL VARNISH S1002 or the natural color stain LAZUROL GOLD S1037. Floors can be overcoated with LAZUROL OUTDOOR WALKABLE VARNISH S1020.
Warning: Absorbent materials (rags, sawdust, paper, dust, etc.) soaked in stain must be disposed of safely, as they may self-ignite under certain circumstances.
You may find covering materials like paper masking tape or covering foil useful. Don't forget brushes and rollers.
