Synthetic oil wood impregnation stain
CHARACTERISTICS AND USE:
Wood stain S1023 is designed for protective staining coats for both soft and hard wood exposed to weather conditions, as well as for interior applications. It protects wood from the effects of UV radiation. It contains natural oil. The wood stain deeply penetrates into the structure of the wood, enhancing its natural grain and thus providing highly effective coatings. It features very easy renewability of the old coat. Shade 0000 - colorless is intended for interior use only!!
Examples of use: garden furniture, wooden shields, ceilings, wall and ceiling cladding, fences, cottages, and wooden houses, windows, doors, cork, penetration of wooden floors.
SUBSTRATE PREPARATION:
The wood must be clean, dry, well-sanded, with a maximum moisture content of 12%, and free from resin residues before application. Wood with a high resin content (larch, pine) must be stripped of all resin exudations beforehand, e.g., by washing with BALTECH C6000 thinner. The quality of the wood pre-treatment determines the overall appearance of the final wood finish and also the overall lifespan of the coating system.
The surface of the wood designated for the exterior must first be impregnated with a suitable fungicidal impregnating agent that provides protection against mold, fungi, and insects, e.g., with LAZUROL IMPREGNATION BASE S1033. The surface of the wood designated for interior use is preferably first impregnated with the colorless stain LAZUROL CLASSIC S1023. Penetration with a colorless impregnation ensures uniform absorbency of the substrate before the application of further coatings. Subsequently, the surface of the wood must be sanded with fine sandpaper, and only then should the impregnation stain be applied. When renewing coatings, it is necessary to remove the old non-adhering layer, e.g., by sanding.
DILUTION: thinner BALTECH S6006 (especially for cleaning tools)
Theoretical coverage: 8 - 10 m²/l for one coat depending on the absorbency of the substrate
APPLICATION PROCEDURE:
It is applied with a brush after thorough mixing on the prepared substrate. The stain does not need to be diluted; it is already at the application viscosity. During work, it is necessary to regularly mix the stain. For indoor use, it is applied in 1 to 2 layers; for outdoor coatings, it is advisable to use three layers but only with colored shades. The colorless stain is intended for interior applications. Individual coats can be applied at intervals of 24 hours. For uniform highlighting of the wood grain, it is suitable to wipe off the unabsorbed stain after 10 to 15 minutes of application using a dry brush or cloth.Always use material from the same production batch for large areas. By using the same production batch, the same color shade is guaranteed. The type, surface, and previous coating of the wood affect the resulting shade of the coating; therefore, it is recommended to perform a test coat before final application. Complaints regarding color shades will only be acknowledged if made for the test area.
For high gloss, it is possible to overcoat the dried coating made with the LAZUROL CLASSIC S1023 stain using LAZUROL UNIVERSAL VARNISH S1002 or the natural shade of the LAZUROL GOLD S1037 stain. Floors can be overcoated with LAZUROL OUTDOOR WALKING VARNISH S1020.
Warning: Absorbent materials (rags, sawdust, papers, dust, etc.) soaked with stain must be disposed of safely, as they may self-ignite under certain circumstances.
You may find covering materials useful, such as paper tape or covering film. Don't forget brushes and rollers.
