Synthetic oil-based wood stain

CHARACTERISTICS AND USE:

Wood stain S1023 is designed for protective staining of soft and hardwood exposed to weather effects as well as for interiors. It protects wood from UV radiation. It contains natural oil. Wood stain penetrates deeply into the wood structure, enhances its natural grain and thus provides highly effective coatings. It is characterized by very easy restoration of the old coating. Shade 0000 - colorless is intended for indoor use only!!

Examples of use: garden furniture, wooden gables, ceilings, wall and ceiling cladding, fences, cottages and wooden houses, windows, doors, cork, penetration of wooden floors.

SUBSTRATE PREPARATION:

Wood must be clean, dry, well-sanded, with a moisture content of a maximum of 12%, and free from resin residues before application. Wood with a high resin content (larch, pine) must be pre-treated to remove all resin exudations, for example, by washing with BALTECH C6000 thinner. The quality of the wood preparation will affect the overall appearance of the finished wood surface and also the overall longevity of the coating system.

The surface of the wood intended for outdoor use must first be impregnated with a suitable fungicidal impregnant that protects the wood against mold, fungi, and insects, for example, with LAZUROL IMPREGNATION BASE S1033. The surface of the wood intended for indoor use should first be impregnated with the colorless stain LAZUROL CLASSIC S1023. The penetration with the colorless impregnant ensures uniform absorbency of the substrate before the subsequent application of coatings. Subsequently, it is necessary to sand the wood surface with fine sandpaper and then apply the wood stain. When renovating coatings, it is necessary to remove the old non-adherent layer, e.g., by sanding.

DILUTION: thinner BALTECH S6006 (especially for cleaning tools)

Theoretical coverage: 8 - 10 m²/l per one layer depending on substrate absorbency

WORKING PROCEDURE:

Apply with a brush after thorough mixing on the prepared substrate. The stain does not need to be diluted, it is already in the application viscosity. During work, it is necessary to regularly stir the staining varnish. For indoor use, apply in 1 to 2 layers; for outdoor coatings, it is advisable to use three layers, but only in colored shades. The colorless stain is intended for indoor applications. Individual applications can be made at intervals of 24 hours. To uniformly enhance the wood grain, it is advisable to wipe off the unwetted varnish after 10 to 15 minutes of application using a dry brush or cloth.

Always use material from the same production batch for cohesive surfaces. Using the same production batch guarantees the same color shade. The type, surface, and previous coating of the wood affect the final shade of the coating; therefore, we recommend conducting a test coating before the final application. Complaints regarding color shades will only be accepted in the case of complaints about the test area.
For high gloss, it is possible to overcoat the dried coating with LAZUROL CLASSIC S1023 with LAZUROL UNIVERSAL VARNISH S1002 or with a natural shade of LAZUROL GOLD S1037 stain. Floors can be overcoated with LAZUROL OUTDOOR WALKABLE VARNISH S1020.

Warning: Absorbent materials (rags, sawdust, paper, dust, etc.) soaked with the stain must be disposed of safely, as they may self-ignite under certain conditions.

You might find covering materials handy, such as paper masking tape or covering foil. Don't forget brushes and rollers.
