Synthetic oil-based impregnation glaze
CHARACTERISTICS AND USE:
Wood glaze S1023 is designed for protective glazing coatings on soft and hard wood exposed to weather conditions as well as for coatings in interiors. It protects wood from the effects of UV radiation. It contains natural oil. The wood glaze deeply penetrates the structure of the wood, emphasizing its natural grain, thus providing highly decorative coatings. It is characterized by very easy renewability of the old coating. Shade 0000 - colorless is intended for interior use only!!
Examples of use: garden furniture, wooden gables, ceilings, wall and ceiling paneling, fences, cottages and wooden houses, windows, doors, cork, penetration of wooden floors.
SUBSTRATE PREPARATION:
Wood must be clean, dry, well-sanded, with a moisture content of max. 12%, free from resin residues before application. Wood with a high resin content (larch, pine) must be pre-treated to remove all resin exudations, e.g. by washing with nitro thinner BALTECH C6000. The quality of the wood pre-treatment affects the overall appearance of the final wood finish and also the overall durability of the coating system.
The surface of the wood intended for outdoor use must first be impregnated with a suitable fungicidal impregnator that provides protection against mold, fungi, and insects, e.g. the product LAZUROL IMPREGNATION BASE S1033. The surface of the wood intended for indoor use is best initially impregnated with the colorless glaze LAZUROL CLASSIC S1023. Penetration with a colorless impregnant ensures uniform absorbency of the substrate before further application of coatings. Subsequently, the surface of the wood must be sanded with fine sandpaper and only then should the impregnation glaze be applied. In case of renovation coatings, the wood must be freed from the old non-adhering layer, e.g. by sanding.
DILUTION: thinner BALTECH S6006 (especially for cleaning tools)
Theoretical yield: 8 - 10 m²/l per layer depending on substrate absorbency
APPLICATION PROCEDURE:
It is applied with a brush after thorough mixing on the prepared substrate. The glaze does not need to be diluted, it is already at application viscosity. During work, the glazing lacquer must be regularly stirred. For indoor use, it is applied in 1 to 2 layers, for outdoor coatings it is advisable to use three layers, but only in colored shades. The colorless glaze is intended for indoor coatings. Individual coats can be applied at intervals of 24 hours. For uniform enhancement of the wood grain, it is advisable to wipe off the non-absorbed lacquer after 10 to 15 minutes from application using a dry brush or cloth.Always use material from one production batch for cohesive surfaces. When using the same production batch, the same color shade is guaranteed. The type, surface, and previous coating of the wood affect the final shade of the coating, therefore, it is recommended to perform a test coat before the final application. Complaints regarding color shades will only be accepted for test areas.
For high gloss, the dried coating made with LAZUROL CLASSIC S1023 can be overcoated with LAZUROL UNIVERSAL VARNISH S1002 or with a natural shade of glaze LAZUROL GOLD S1037. Floors can be overcoated with LAZUROL OUTDOOR WALKABLE VARNISH S1020.
Warning: Absorbent materials (rags, sawdust, papers, dust, etc.) soaked with glaze must be disposed of safely, as they may self-ignite under certain circumstances.
You may find covering materials such as paper adhesive tape or covering film useful. Don't forget about brushes and rollers.
