Synthetic oil impregnation stain
CHARACTERISTICS AND USE:
Wood stain S1023 is intended for protective glazing coats on soft and hard woods exposed to weather influences as well as for coatings in interiors. It protects wood from the effects of UV radiation. It contains natural oil. Wood stain penetrates deeply into the wood structure, enhances its natural grain, providing highly effective coatings. It is characterized by very easy renewability of the old coat. Shade 0000 - colorless is intended for indoor use only!!
Examples of use: garden furniture, wooden cladding, ceilings, wall paneling, fences, cabins and wooden houses, windows, doors, cork, impregnation of wooden floors.
SUBSTRATE PREPARATION:
The wood must be clean, dry, well-sanded, with a maximum moisture content of 12%, and free from resin residues before application. Wood with a high resin content (larch, pine) must be freed from all resin exudates beforehand, e.g. by washing with BALTECH C6000 thinner. The quality of wood pre-treatment affects the overall appearance of the final wood finish and also the overall longevity of the coating system.
The surface of the wood intended for exterior use must first be impregnated with an appropriate fungicidal impregnant, which ensures protection of the wood against mold, fungi, and insects, e.g. with LAZUROL IMPREGNATION BASE S1033. The surface of the wood intended for indoor use should be first impregnated with colorless stain LAZUROL CLASSIC S1023. Penetration with colorless impregnant ensures uniform absorption of the substrate before the subsequent application of paints. It is then necessary to sand the wood surface with fine sandpaper and only then apply the impregnation stain. When renovating coatings, it is necessary to remove the old non-adhering layer, e.g. by sanding.
DILUTION: thinner BALTECH S6006 (especially for washing tools)
Theoretical coverage: 8 - 10 m²/l for one coat depending on the substrate's absorbency
WORKING PROCEDURE:
Apply with a brush after thorough mixing on the prepared substrate. The stain does not need to be diluted, it is already in application viscosity. During the work, it is necessary to regularly stir the glazing lacquer. For indoor use, apply in 1 to 2 layers, for outdoor coatings, it is advisable to use three layers, but only in color shades. The colorless stain is intended for interior coatings. Individual coatings can be applied at intervals of 24 hours. To uniformly enhance the wood grain, it is advisable to wipe any unabsorbed lacquer after 10 to 15 minutes of application using a dry brush or cloth.
For cohesive areas, always use material from one production batch. By using the same production batch, the same color shade is guaranteed. The type, surface, and previous coating of the wood influence the final shade of the coating, so we recommend performing a trial application before the final application. Color shade complaints will only be accepted with complaints on the test area.
For a high gloss finish, it is possible to coat the dried finish made with LAZUROL CLASSIC S1023 with LAZUROL UNIVERSAL VARNISH S1002 or a natural shade of LAZUROL GOLD S1037 stain. Floors can be overcoated with LAZUROL OUTDOOR WALKING VARNISH S1020.
Warning: Absorbent materials (rags, sawdust, papers, dust, etc.) soaked with stain must be safely disposed of, as they may self-ignite under certain circumstances.
You may find covering materials, such as paper masking tape or masking film useful. Don't forget brushes and rollers.
