Synthetic oil wood stain
CHARACTERISTICS AND USE:
Wood stain S1023 is intended for protective stains for soft and hardwood exposed to weather effects and for interior applications. It protects wood from the effects of UV radiation. It contains natural oil. The wood stain deeply penetrates the wood structure, enhancing its natural grain, thus providing highly effective coatings. It is characterized by very easy renewability of the old coating. Shade 0000 - clear is intended for indoor use only!!
Examples of use: garden furniture, wooden shields, ceilings, wall and ceiling cladding, fences, cottages and wooden houses, windows, doors, cork, penetration of wooden floors.
SUBSTRATE PREPARATION:
The wood must be clean, dry, well-sanded, with a moisture content of max. 12%, and free of resin residues before application. Wood with a high resin content (larch, pine) must be pre-treated to remove all resin exudates, e.g., by washing with BALTECH C6000 thinner. The quality of the wood pre-treatment significantly affects the overall appearance of the final wood surface finish and the overall durability of the coating system.
The surface of the wood intended for outdoor use must first be impregnated with a suitable fungicidal primer, which ensures protection against mold, fungus, and insects, e.g., with LAZUROL IMPREGNATION BASE S1033. The surface of the wood intended for indoor use should first be impregnated with clear LAZUROL CLASSIC S1023. Penetration with a clear primer ensures uniform absorbency of the substrate before applying the coatings. Subsequently, the surface of the wood must be sanded with fine sandpaper, and only then should the wood stain be applied. When renovating coatings, it is necessary to remove the old, non-adhering layer, e.g., by sanding.
DILUTION: thinner BALTECH S6006 (especially for cleaning tools)
Theoretical coverage: 8 - 10 m²/l per layer depending on the absorbency of the substrate
WORKING PROCEDURE:
It is applied with a brush after thorough mixing onto a previously prepared substrate. The stain does not need to be diluted; it is already at application viscosity. During work, the wood stain must be regularly mixed. For indoor applications, it is applied in 1 to 2 layers, for outdoor coatings it is advisable to use three layers, but only in colored shades. The clear stain is intended for interior applications. Individual coats can be applied at intervals of 24 hours. To uniformly enhance the wood grain, it is advisable to wipe off the non-absorbed stain after 10 to 15 minutes of application using a dry brush or cloth. For cohesive areas, always use material from the same production batch. When using the same production batch, the same color shade is guaranteed. The type, surface, and previous coating of the wood affect the final color shade, so we recommend performing a test coat before the final application. Claims for color shades will only be recognized if the claim is made based on the test area.
For a high gloss finish, the dried coat made with LAZUROL CLASSIC S1023 can be topcoated with LAZUROL UNIVERSAL VARNISH S1002 or a natural shade of LAZUROL GOLD S1037 stain. Floors can be topcoated with LAZUROL OUTDOOR WALK-ON VARNISH S1020.
Warning: Absorbent materials (rags, sawdust, papers, dust, etc.) soaked in stain must be safely disposed of, as they may self-ignite under certain conditions.
You may find covering materials, such as paper masking tape or covering film, useful. Don't forget brushes and rollers.
