Synthetic oil wood stain

CHARACTERISTICS AND USE:

Wood stain S1023 is designed for protective staining coatings of soft and hardwood exposed to weather conditions as well as for coatings in interiors. It protects wood against the effects of UV radiation. It contains natural oil. The wood stain deeply penetrates into the wood structure, enhancing its natural grain and thereby providing highly effective coatings. It features very easy renewability of the old coating. Shade 0000 - colorless is intended for interior use only!!

Examples of use: garden furniture, wooden panels, ceilings, wall and ceiling cladding, fences, cabins and wooden houses, windows, doors, cork, penetration of wooden floors.

SUBSTRATE PREPARATION:

Wood must be clean, dry, well-sanded, with a maximum moisture content of 12%, and free from resin remnants before application. Wood with a high resin content (larch, pine) must be free of all resin exudates beforehand, e.g. by washing with BALTECH C6000 thinner. The quality of the wood's pre-treatment depends on the overall appearance of the final wood finish and the overall longevity of the coating system.

The surface of the wood intended for outdoor use must first be treated with a suitable fungicidal impregnation that ensures protection against mold, fungi, and insects, e.g. with LAZUROL IMPREGNATING BASE S1033. The surface of the wood intended for interior use is best treated first with colorless stain LAZUROL CLASSIC S1023. Penetration with colorless impregnation will ensure a uniform absorbency of the substrate before the application of the paint products. Subsequently, the surface of the wood must be sanded with fine sandpaper and only then should the wood stain be applied. In renovation coatings, it is necessary to remove old non-adhering layers, e.g. by sanding.

DILUTION: thinner BALTECH S6006 (especially for cleaning tools)

Theoretical coverage: 8 - 10 m²/l for one coat depending on the substrate's absorbency

WORKING PROCEDURE:

It is applied with a brush after thorough mixing onto the pre-prepared substrate. The stain does not need to be diluted, it is already at application viscosity. During work, the stain must be regularly mixed. For indoor use, apply in 1 to 2 coats; for outdoor coatings, it is advisable to use three coats, but only with colored shades. The colorless stain is intended for interior coatings. Individual coats can be applied at intervals of 24 hours. To uniformly enhance the wood grain, it is good to wipe off the unabsorbed lacquer after 10 to 15 minutes of application using a dry brush or cloth.

When painting large areas, always choose material from the same production batch to guarantee a consistent color shade. The type of wood, the condition of its surface, and previous coatings affect the final shade; therefore, we recommend performing a test coat before the final application. Complaints regarding color shades will only be accepted after assessing the test area.
To achieve a high gloss, you can coat the dried stain with LAZUROL CLASSIC S1023 with LAZUROL UNIVERSAL VARNISH S1002 or the natural shade of the stain LAZUROL GOLD S1037. Wooden floors can be coated with LAZUROL OUTDOOR WALK-ON VARNISH S1020.

Warning: Absorbent materials (cloths, sawdust, papers, dust, etc.) soaked with stain must be safely disposed of, as they can self-ignite under certain circumstances.

When working, you will also appreciate covering tools, such as paper masking tape or protective foil. Don't forget to also acquire brushes and rollers.
