Synthetic oil-based impregnation stain
CHARACTERISTICS AND USE:
Wood stain S1023 is designed for protective staining coatings for soft and hardwood exposed to weather conditions and for indoor applications. It protects wood from the effects of UV radiation. It contains natural oil. Wood stain deeply penetrates the structure of the wood, accentuating its natural grain and providing highly effective coatings. It features very easy renewability of the old coat. Shade 0000 - colorless is intended for indoor use only!!
Examples of use: garden furniture, wooden facades, ceilings, wall and ceiling paneling, fences, cottages and wooden houses, windows, doors, cork, penetration of wooden floors.
SUBSTRATE PREPARATION:
The wood must be clean, dry, well-sanded, with a moisture content of max. 12%, and free from any resin residues before application. Wood with a high resin content (larch, pine) must be stripped of all resin exudates beforehand, for example, by washing with BALTECH C6000 thinner. The quality of the wood pre-treatment affects the overall appearance of the final wood finish and the overall lifespan of the coating system.
The surface of the wood intended for outdoor use must first be treated with a suitable fungicidal impregnating agent that provides protection against mold, fungi, and insects, e.g., with LAZUROL IMPREGNATING BASE S1033. The surface of the wood intended for indoor use is best treated first with the colorless stain LAZUROL CLASSIC S1023. Penetration with a colorless impregnating agent ensures a uniform absorption in the substrate before further application of paint products. Subsequently, the surface of the wood must be sanded with fine sandpaper and only then can the impregnation stain be applied. In renovation coatings, it is necessary to remove the old non-adherent layer of the wood, e.g. by sanding.
DILUTION: thinner BALTECH S6006 (especially for cleaning tools)
Theoretical yield: 8 - 10 m²/l per one coat depending on substrate absorption
APPLICATION PROCEDURE:
It is applied with a brush after thorough mixing on a prepared substrate. The stain does not need to be diluted; it is already in application viscosity. During work, the staining varnish must be regularly mixed. For indoor use, it is applied in 1 to 2 coats; for outdoor coatings, it is advisable to use three coats, but only in colored shades. The colorless stain is intended for indoor applications. Individual coatings can be applied at intervals of 24 hours. For an even enhancement of the wood grain, it is advisable to wipe off the unabsorbed varnish 10 to 15 minutes after application with a dry brush or cloth.
For comprehensive areas, always use material from the same production batch. Using the same production batch guarantees the same color shade. The type, surface, and previous coating of the wood affect the final color shade, so it is recommended to do a test coating before the final application. Complaints about color shades will only be accepted if the complaint is about the test area.
For high gloss, the dried coating performed with the LAZUROL CLASSIC S1023 stain can be topped with LAZUROL UNIVERSAL VARNISH S1002 or with a natural shade of LAZUROL GOLD S1037 stain. Floors can be topped with LAZUROL OUTDOOR WALKABLE VARNISH S1020.
Warning: Absorbent materials (rags, sawdust, paper, dust, etc.) soaked in stain must be disposed of safely, as they may self-ignite under certain conditions.
You may find covering materials such as paper adhesive tape or covering film useful. Don’t forget brushes and rollers.
