Synthetic thixotropic wood stain.
CHARACTERISTICS AND USE:
LAZUROL GOLD S1037 wood stain is intended for long-term protective colored transparent coatings of soft and hard wood exposed to weather conditions as well as for indoor applications, e.g. garden furniture, wooden gables, ceilings, wall and ceiling cladding, fences, cottages, and wooden houses. It creates an attractive (decorative) protective coating film on the wood surface, which emphasizes the grain of the wood while reinforcing it and providing long-term protection against moisture and UV radiation.
Key properties:
• long-lasting durability
• does not run during application
• exclusive appearance
SUBSTRATE PREPARATION:
The wood must be clean, dry, well-sanded, with a maximum moisture content of 12%, and free of resin residues before application. Wood with an increased resin content (larch, pine) must be thoroughly cleaned of all resin exudations, e.g. by washing with BALTECH C6000 thinner. The quality of the wood pretreatment affects the overall appearance of the final wood finish and the overall durability of the coating system.
The wood surface must first be soaked with a suitable penetrant that ensures uniform absorbency of the substrate and higher protection of the wood (if using a fungicidal penetrant, also protection against mold, fungi, and insects). Subsequently, it is necessary to sand the wood surface with fine sandpaper before applying the thick-layer stain.
For indoor applications, it is appropriate to use colorless LAZUROL CLASSIC S1023 as the penetrant, while for outdoor applications, LAZUROL IMPREGNATION BASE S1033 is suitable as a primer.
For renovation coatings, it is mandatory to remove old non-adhering coatings and ensure good adhesion of the substrate (when completely removing the old coating, the new coating is applied gradually, including soaking the wood).
DILUTION: thinner BALTECH S6006 (especially for cleaning tools)
Theoretical coverage: 17 m2/1 liter for one coat, depending on the absorbency of the substrate
APPLICATION PROCEDURE:
Before use, mix thoroughly. LAZUROL GOLD should not be diluted; it is applied with a brush or roller on a pre-prepared, soaked, and lightly sanded wood substrate in 2 to 3 coats, with the second coat possible after 6 hours. Any sanding of the previous coat can be done after 24 hours. The coating is applied in the direction of the wood grain. Color shades are mutually blendable. The type, surface, and previous coating of the wood affect the final shade of the coating, so it is recommended to perform a test coat before the final application. Complaints about color shades will only be accepted if a test coat was performed before the implementation and this was reported to us.
Always use material from the same production batch for consistent areas. Using the same production batch ensures the same color shade. It is recommended to mix color shades from different batches in a larger container before application. The stain shade further depends on the number and thickness of coats (the color sample is prepared on sanded spruce wood, which received 3 coats with a brush according to the recommended procedure).
This product is not suitable for coating floors and wood in permanently moist environments (e.g. saunas), wood treated with oils or waxes, or products containing waxes.
If this product is used on wood with high tannin content (acacia, oak, larch), it is necessary to first conduct a test coat. Due to the high tannin content, slow drying, subsequent leaching of tannins, and overall impact on the appearance of the coating film may occur.
TINTING:
Additional color shades are prepared by tinting in the TELURMIX tinting system.
You may need masking materials such as paper tape or masking film. Don't forget brushes and rollers.
