Synthetic oil impregnating stain
CHARACTERISTICS AND USE:
Wood stain S1023 is intended for protective staining of soft and hard woods exposed to weather conditions and for interior coatings. Protects wood from the effects of UV radiation. Contains natural oil. The wood stain penetrates deeply into the structure of the wood, enhances its natural grain, thus providing highly effective coatings. It is characterized by very easy renewability of the old coating. Shade 0000 - colorless is intended for indoor use only!!
Examples of use: garden furniture, wooden shields, ceilings, wall and ceiling coverings, fences, cabins and wooden houses, windows, doors, cork, penetration of wooden floors.
SUBSTRATE PREPARATION:
Wood must be clean, dry, well-sanded, with a moisture content of max. 12%, free from resin residues before application. Wood with a high resin content (larch, pine) must be completely free of any resin exudation, e.g. by washing with BALTECH C6000 solvent. The quality of the wood pre-treatment affects the overall appearance of the finished wood surface treatment and also the overall durability of the coating system.
The surface of the wood intended for exterior use must first be impregnated with a suitable fungicidal impregnant that ensures protection against mold, fungi, and insects, e.g. with LAZUROL IMPREGNATING BASE S1033. The surface of the wood intended for interior use should first be impregnated with the colorless stain LAZUROL CLASSIC S1023. Penetration with a colorless impregnant ensures uniform absorbency of the substrate before further application of coatings. Subsequently, the surface of the wood must be sanded with fine sandpaper and only then should the impregnating stain be applied. For renovation coatings, it is necessary to remove the old non-adhering layer of paint, for example, by sanding.
DILUTION: BALTECH S6006 thinner (especially for cleaning tools)
Theoretical coverage: 8 - 10 m²/l per coat depending on substrate absorbency
WORK PROCEDURE:
Apply with a brush after thorough mixing on the pre-prepared substrate. The stain does not need to be diluted, it is already in application viscosity. It is necessary to regularly mix the staining lacquer during work. For indoor use, it is applied in 1 to 2 layers, for outdoor coatings it is recommended to use three layers, but only with colored shades. The colorless stain is intended for indoor coatings. Individual layers can be applied at intervals of 24 hours. To uniformly enhance the wood grain, it is advisable to wipe the unabsorbed lacquer 10 to 15 minutes after application with a dry brush or cloth.
For large areas, always use material from the same production batch. Using the same batch guarantees the same color shade. The type, surface, and previous treatment of the wood affect the final shade of the coating, so it is recommended to perform a test coat before the final application. Complaints about color shades will only be accepted when claiming the test area.
For high gloss, dried coatings made with LAZUROL CLASSIC S1023 can be overcoated with LAZUROL UNIVERSAL VARNISH S1002 or with the natural shade of LAZUROL GOLD S1037 stain. Floors can be overcoated with LAZUROL OUTDOOR WALKABLE VARNISH S1020.
Warning: Absorbent materials (rags, sawdust, papers, dust, etc.) soaked with stain must be safely disposed of as they can self-ignite under certain conditions.
You may find covering materials such as paper masking tape or covering film useful. Don’t forget brushes and rollers.
