CHARACTERISTICS AND USE:

Wood stain S1023 is designed for protective staining of both soft and hard wood exposed to weather conditions as well as for interior coatings. It protects wood from the effects of UV radiation. It contains natural oil. The wood stain deeply penetrates the wood structure, enhancing its natural grain and thus providing highly effective coatings. It is characterized by very easy renewability of the old coat. Shade 0000 - colorless is intended for indoor use only!!

Examples of use: garden furniture, wooden shields, ceilings, wall and ceiling paneling, fences, cabins and wooden houses, windows, doors, cork, penetration of wooden floors.

SUBSTRATE PREPARATION:

Wood must be clean, dry, well-sanded, with a moisture content of max. 12%, and free of resin residues before application. Wood with an increased resin content (larch, pine) must be freed from all resin exudates, for example, by washing with BALTECH C6000 thinner. The quality of the wood pre-treatment affects the overall appearance of the final wood surface treatment and also the overall longevity of the coating system.

The surface of the wood intended for outdoor use must first be impregnated with a suitable fungicidal impregnant that ensures protection against mold, fungi, and insects, e.g., with LAZUROL IMPREGNATING BASE S1033. The surface of the wood intended for indoor use is best first impregnated with the colorless stain LAZUROL CLASSIC S1023. The penetration of the colorless impregnant ensures uniform absorbency of the substrate before further application of coating materials. Subsequently, it is necessary to sand the surface of the wood with fine sandpaper and only then apply the impregnation stain. In renovation coatings, it is necessary to remove the old non-adhering layer of wood, for example by sanding.

DILUTION: Thinner BALTECH S6006 (especially for cleaning tools)

Theoretical coverage: 8 - 10 m²/l per layer depending on the absorbency of the substrate

WORKING PROCEDURE:

It is applied using a brush on the pre-prepared substrate after thorough mixing. The stain does not need to be diluted; it is supplied at application viscosity. During application, it is necessary to regularly mix the staining lacquer. For interiors, it is applied in 1 to 2 layers; for outdoor coatings, it is advisable to use three layers, but exclusively in color shades. The colorless stain is intended for use in interiors. Additional layers can be applied at intervals of 24 hours. To uniformly highlight the wood grain, it is advisable to wipe off the unabsorbed lacquer after 10 to 15 minutes of application with a dry brush or cloth.

When painting large areas, always work with material from the same production batch, which guarantees a consistent color shade. The final appearance is influenced by the type of wood, the condition of its surface, and previous coatings; therefore, it is advisable to perform a test coat before the final application. Any claims regarding color shades will only be recognized based on the test area.
To achieve a high gloss, the dried finish created by the LAZUROL CLASSIC S1023 stain can be re-coated with LAZUROL UNIVERSAL VARNISH S1002 or the natural shade of LAZUROL GOLD S1037 stain. For floor coatings, LAZUROL OUTDOOR WALKABLE VARNISH S1020 can be used.

Warning: Absorbent materials (rags, sawdust, paper, dust, etc.) soaked with stain must be safely disposed of as they may self-ignite under certain circumstances.

During work, covering material such as covering film or paper adhesive tape may come in handy. Do not forget also suitable brushes and rollers.
