Synthetic oil-absorbing wood stain
CHARACTERISTICS AND USE:
The wood stain S1023 is designed for protective staining coatings on soft and hardwoods exposed to weather influences as well as for coatings in interiors. It protects wood from the effects of UV radiation. Contains natural oil. The wood stain penetrates deeply into the structure of the wood, enhancing its natural grain and thus providing highly effective coatings. It features very easy renewability of the old coating. Shade 0000 - colorless is intended for interior use only!!
Examples of use: garden furniture, wooden gables, ceilings, wall and ceiling paneling, fences, cottages and wooden houses, windows, doors, cork, penetration of wooden floors.
SUBSTRATE PREPARATION:
Wood must be clean, dry, well-sanded, with a maximum moisture content of 12%, free of resin residues, before application. Wood with high resin content (larch, pine) must be pre-treated to remove all resin outflows, for example by washing with BALTECH C6000 thinner. The quality of the wood pre-treatment affects the overall appearance of the final wood finish as well as the overall lifespan of the coating system.
The surface of the wood intended for outdoor use must first be impregnated with a suitable fungicidal impregnator that provides protection against mold, fungi, and insects, such as LAZUROL IMPREGNATION BASE S1033. The surface of the wood intended for indoor use is best first impregnated with colorless stain LAZUROL CLASSIC S1023. Impregnation with a colorless impregnator ensures uniform absorbency of the substrate before the further application of coatings. Subsequently, the surface of the wood must be sanded with fine sandpaper and only then can the impregnating stain be applied. In renovation coatings, it is necessary to remove the old non-adhering layer, for example by sanding.
DILUTION: thinner BALTECH S6006 (especially for cleaning tools)
Theoretical yield: 8 - 10 m²/l for one layer depending on substrate absorbency
WORKING PROCEDURE:
It is applied with a brush after thorough mixing on the prepared substrate. The stain does not need to be diluted; it is already in application viscosity. During the work, it is necessary to regularly stir the glazing varnish. For indoor use, it is applied in 1 to 2 layers; for outdoor coatings, it is advisable to use three layers, but only in colored shades. The colorless stain is intended for coatings in interiors. Individual layers can be applied at intervals of 24 hours. To uniformly enhance the grain of the wood, it is advisable to wipe away the unabsorbed varnish after 10 to 15 minutes from application using a dry brush or cloth.Always use material from the same batch for cohesive areas. When using the same production batch, the same color shade is guaranteed. The type, surface, and previous coating of the wood affect the final shade of the coating, therefore it is recommended to perform a test coat before the final application. Complaints about color shades will be acknowledged only in the event of a complaint regarding the test area.
For high gloss, it is possible to overcoat the dried layer made with LAZUROL CLASSIC S1023 with LAZUROL UNIVERSAL VARNISH S1002 or the natural shade of stain LAZUROL GOLD S1037. Floors can be overcoated with LAZUROL OUTDOOR WALKING VARNISH S1020.
Warning: Absorbent materials (cloths, sawdust, papers, dust, etc.) soaked with stain must be safely disposed of, as they may self-ignite under certain circumstances.
You may find covering materials, such as paper masking tape or covering foil, useful. Don’t forget about brushes and rollers.
