Synthetic oil-based impregnation stain
CHARACTERISTICS AND USE:
Wood stain S1023 is intended for protective staining of soft and hardwood exposed to weather conditions as well as for interior coatings. It protects wood from the effects of UV radiation. Contains natural oil. The wood stain deeply penetrates into the wood structure, enhances its natural grain, and thereby provides highly effective coatings. It is characterized by very easy renewability of the old coating. Shade 0000 - colorless is intended only for interior use!!
Examples of use: garden furniture, wooden cladding, ceilings, wall panelling, fences, cabins, and wooden houses, windows, doors, cork, penetration of wooden floors.
SUBSTRATE PREPARATION:
Wood must be clean, dry, well-sanded, with a moisture content of max. 12%, free of resin residues before application. Wood with high resin content (larch, pine) must be pre-treated to remove all resin exudates, e.g. by washing with BALTECH C6000 thinner. The quality of the wood pre-treatment determines the overall appearance of the final wood surface finish as well as the overall lifespan of the coating system.
The surface of the wood intended for outdoor use must first be impregnated with a suitable fungicidal impregnant, which ensures protection against mold, fungi, and insects, e.g. LAZUROL IMPREGNATION BASE S1033. The surface of the wood intended for indoor use is recommended to be initially impregnated with colorless stain LAZUROL CLASSIC S1023. Penetration with colorless impregnating agent ensures uniform absorption of the substrate before applying the coating materials. Subsequently, it is necessary to sand the wood surface with fine sandpaper and only then apply the impregnation stain. In renovation coatings, it is necessary to remove the old non-adhering layer of paint, e.g. by sanding.
DILUTION: thinner BALTECH S6006 (especially for cleaning tools)
Theoretical coverage: 8 - 10 m²/l for one coat depending on the absorbency of the substrate
APPLICATION PROCEDURE:
Apply with a brush after thorough mixing on a prepared substrate. The stain does not need to be diluted, as it is already at application viscosity. During work, it is essential to regularly mix the staining varnish. For indoor use, it is applied in 1 to 2 layers; for outdoor coatings, using three layers is recommended but only with colored shades. Colorless stain is intended for interior applications. Individual layers can be applied at intervals of 24 hours. For uniform enhancement of the wood grain, it is advisable to wipe the unfixed varnish after 10 to 15 minutes of application using a dry brush or cloth.Always use material from the same production batch for cohesive areas. Using the same production batch guarantees the same color shade. The type, surface, and previous coating of the wood influence the final shade of the coating; therefore, it is recommended to perform a test coat before the final application. Complaints about color shades will only be recognized when reporting the test area.
For high gloss, the dried coating made with LAZUROL CLASSIC S1023 can be overcoated with LAZUROL UNIVERSAL VARNISH S1002 or the natural shade of LAZUROL GOLD S1037 stain. Floors can be overcoated with LAZUROL OUTDOOR WALKABLE VARNISH S1020.
Warning: Absorbent materials (rags, sawdust, papers, dust, etc.) soaked with stain must be disposed of safely, as they may self-ignite under certain circumstances.
You might find protective materials useful, such as paper masking tape or covering foil. Don’t forget brushes and rollers.
