Synthetic oil wood stain

CHARACTERISTICS AND USE:

Wood stain S1023 is intended for protective staining of soft and hard wood exposed to weather conditions as well as for interior coatings. It protects wood from the effects of UV radiation. It contains natural oil. The wood stain penetrates deeply into the structure of the wood, enhances its natural grain, and thus provides highly effective coatings. It features very easy renewability of the old coating. Shade 0000 - colorless is intended only for interior use!!

Examples of use: garden furniture, wooden gables, ceilings, wall and ceiling paneling, fences, huts and wooden houses, windows, doors, cork, penetration of wooden floors.

SUBSTRATE PREPARATION:

Wood must be clean, dry, well-sanded, with a moisture content of max. 12%, and free of any resin residues before application. Wood with a high resin content (larch, pine) must be freed from all resin exudations beforehand, for example, by rinsing with BALTECH C6000 thinner. The quality of the wood pretreatment depends on the overall appearance of the final wood finish and also the overall durability of the coating system.

The surface of the wood intended for outdoor use must first be treated with an appropriate fungicidal impregnating agent that ensures protection against mold, fungi, and insects, for example, with LAZUROL IMPREGNATION BASE S1033. The surface of the wood intended for indoor use should preferably be treated with colorless wood stain LAZUROL CLASSIC S1023 first. Penetration with colorless impregnating agent ensures uniform absorbency of the substrate before further applications of coatings. Subsequently, the surface of the wood must be sanded with fine sandpaper, and only then should the impregnating stain be applied. In renovation coatings, it is necessary to remove the old non-adhering layer of paint, for example, by sanding.

DILUTION: thinner BALTECH S6006 (especially for cleaning tools)

Theoretical coverage: 8 - 10 m²/l for one layer depending on the absorbency of the substrate

WORKING PROCEDURE:

It is applied with a brush after thorough mixing on a previously prepared substrate. The stain does not need to be thinned; it is already at application viscosity. During work, the staining lacquer must be regularly stirred. For indoor use, it is applied in 1 to 2 layers, while for outdoor coatings it is advisable to use three layers, but only in colored shades. Colorless stain is intended for interior applications. Individual coatings can be applied at intervals of 24 hours. For uniform enhancement of the wood grain, it is advisable to wipe off the unabsorbed lacquer after 10 to 15 minutes of application using a dry brush or cloth.

For complete areas, always choose a product from the same production batch to ensure a uniform color shade. The resulting hue depends on the type of wood, its surface, and previous treatment; therefore, we recommend carrying out a test application before the final application. Any complaints about the shade can only be accepted if a test area is provided.
To achieve a high gloss, the dried coating can be overcoated with LAZUROL CLASSIC S1023 with LAZUROL UNIVERSAL VARNISH S1002 or with the natural shade of LAZUROL GOLD S1037. For floors, you can use LAZUROL OUTDOOR WALKING VARNISH S1020.

Warning: Absorbent materials (rags, sawdust, papers, dust, etc.) soaked with stain must be safely disposed of, as they may self-ignite under certain conditions.

When working, you will also appreciate covering materials such as cover foil or paper masking tape. Don’t forget brushes and rollers.
