Synthetic oil penetrating stain
CHARACTERISTICS AND USE:
Wood stain S1023 is designed for protective staining of soft and hardwood exposed to weather influences as well as for coatings in interiors. It protects the wood from the effects of UV radiation. It contains natural oil. The wood stain penetrates deeply into the wood structure, highlighting its natural grain and thus providing highly effective coatings. It is characterized by very easy renewability of the old coat. Shade 0000 - colorless is intended for indoor use only!!
Examples of use: garden furniture, wooden gables, ceilings, wall cladding, fences, cabins and wooden houses, windows, doors, cork, penetration of wooden floors.
SUBSTRATE PREPARATION:
The wood must be clean, dry, well-sanded, with a maximum moisture content of 12%, and free from resin residues prior to application. Wood with a high resin content (larch, pine) must be freed from all resin exudates in advance, e.g. by washing with BALTECH C6000 thinner. The quality of the wood pre-treatment affects the overall appearance of the final wood finish and also the overall lifespan of the coating system.
The surface of the wood intended for exterior use must first be treated with a suitable fungicidal impregnator that provides protection against mold, fungi, and insects, e.g. LAZUROL IMPREGNATION BASE S1033. The surface of the wood intended for interior use is best treated first with the colorless stain LAZUROL CLASSIC S1023. The penetration with a colorless impregnator will ensure uniform absorbency of the substrate in preparation for further applications of coatings. Subsequently, the wood surface must be sanded with fine sandpaper and only then should the penetrating stain be applied. When renovating, it is necessary to remove the old non-adhering layer, e.g. by sanding.
DILUTION: thinner BALTECH S6006 (especially for cleaning tools)
Theoretical coverage: 8 - 10 m²/l for one coat depending on the absorbency of the substrate
WORKING PROCEDURE:
It is applied with a brush after thorough mixing on the prepared substrate. The stain does not need to be diluted, it is already at application viscosity. During work, the stain must be stirred regularly. For indoor use, it is applied in 1 to 2 coats, and for outdoor coatings, it is advisable to use three coats, but only in colored shades. The colorless stain is intended for indoor applications. Individual coats can be applied at intervals of 24 hours. To uniformly highlight the wood grain, it is advisable to wipe off excess stain after 10 to 15 minutes of application using a dry brush or cloth. For large areas, always use material from the same production batch. By using the same production batch, the same color shade is guaranteed. The type, surface, and previous coating of the wood affect the final shade of the coating, so we recommend performing a test coat before the final application. Claims for color shades will only be recognized if a claim is made for the test area.
For a high gloss, the dried coat done with LAZUROL CLASSIC S1023 can be overcoated with LAZUROL UNIVERSAL VARNISH S1002 or the natural shade of LAZUROL GOLD S1037 stain. Floors can be overcoated with LAZUROL EXTERNAL WALKABLE VARNISH S1020.
Warning: Absorbent materials (rags, sawdust, papers, dust, etc.) soaked with stain must be safely disposed of, as they can self-ignite under certain conditions.
You may find covering material useful, such as paper tape or covering film. Don’t forget brushes and rollers.
