Synthetic oil impregnating stain
CHARACTERISTICS AND USE:
Wood stain S1023 is intended for protective staining of soft and hardwood exposed to weather influences as well as for interior coatings. It protects wood from the effects of UV radiation. It contains natural oil. The wood stain deeply penetrates the structure of the wood, enhances its natural grain, thereby providing highly effective coatings. It is characterized by very easy renewability of the old coating. Shade 0000 - colorless is intended only for indoor use!!
Examples of use: garden furniture, wooden gables, ceilings, wall and ceiling cladding, fences, holiday cabins and wooden houses, windows, doors, cork, wood floor priming.
SUBSTRATE PREPARATION:
Wood must be clean, dry, well-sanded, with a moisture content of max. 12%, and free from resin residues before application. Wood with a high resin content (larch, pine) must be thoroughly cleaned of all resin exudates, e.g., by washing with BALTECH C6000 nitro thinner. The quality of the wood pre-treatment affects the overall appearance of the final wood finish and also the overall longevity of the coating system.
The surface of the wood intended for outdoor use must first be treated with a suitable fungicidal primer to protect the wood against mold, fungi, and insects, for example, with LAZUROL IMPREGNATING BASE S1033. The surface of the wood intended for indoor use should be treated first with colorless stain LAZUROL CLASSIC S1023. Priming with colorless penetrant ensures even absorbency of the substrate before applying the topcoats. Subsequently, the surface of the wood must be sanded with fine sandpaper before applying the impregnating stain. In renovation coatings, it is necessary to remove any old non-adherent layers, for example, by sanding.
DILUTION: thinner BALTECH S6006 (especially for cleaning tools)
Theoretical coverage: 8 - 10 m²/l per layer depending on the absorbency of the substrate
APPLICATION PROCEDURE:
It is applied with a brush after thorough mixing on the prepared substrate. The stain does not need to be diluted, it is already at application viscosity. During work, it is necessary to regularly stir the staining lacquer. For interior use, it is applied in 1 to 2 layers, for exterior coatings it is advisable to use three layers, but only in colored shades. Colorless stain is intended for interior applications. Individual coatings can be applied at intervals of 24 hours. For uniform enhancement of the wood's grain, it is advisable to wipe off the unabsorbed lacquer 10 to 15 minutes after application using a dry brush or cloth.
Always use material from the same production batch for solid areas. Using the same production batch guarantees the same color shade. The type, surface, and previous wood coating affect the final shade of the coating, therefore we recommend doing a test coat before final application. Claims regarding color shades will only be accepted when a claim is made about the test area.
For a high gloss finish, the dried coating made with LAZUROL CLASSIC S1023 can be overcoated with LAZUROL UNIVERSAL VARNISH S1002 or with the natural shade of LAZUROL GOLD S1037 stain. Floors can be overcoated with LAZUROL OUTDOOR WALKABLE VARNISH S1020.
Warning: Absorbent materials (rags, sawdust, papers, dust, etc.) soaked with stain must be disposed of safely, as they can self-ignite under certain conditions.
You may find it useful to have covering materials, such as masking tape or covering film. Don't forget brushes and rollers.
