Synthetic oil impregnating stain

CHARACTERISTICS AND USE:

Wood stain S1023 is intended for protective staining coatings for soft and hardwood, exposed to weather conditions as well as for applications in interiors. It protects wood from the effects of UV radiation. Contains natural oil. Wood stain deeply penetrates the structure of the wood, highlighting its natural grain, thereby providing highly effective coatings. It is characterized by very easy renewability of the old coating. Shade 0000 - colorless is intended for interior use only!!

Examples of use: garden furniture, wooden eaves, ceilings, wall and ceiling paneling, fences, cabins, and wooden houses, windows, doors, cork, penetration of wooden floors.

SUBSTRATE PREPARATION:

Wood must be clean, dry, well-sanded, with a maximum moisture content of 12%, and free from resin residues before application. Wood with increased resin content (larch, pine) must be free of all resin exudates in advance, e.g., by washing with nitro thinner BALTECH C6000. The quality of the pre-treatment of the wood affects the overall appearance of the final wood finish and also the overall longevity of the coating system.

The surface of wood designated for outdoor use must first be impregnated with a suitable fungicidal impregnator that ensures protection against mold, fungi, and insects, such as LAZUROL IMPREGNATING BASE S1033. The surface of wood intended for indoor use should be initially impregnated with colorless stain LAZUROL CLASSIC S1023. The penetration of colorless impregnators ensures even absorbency of the substrate for subsequent application of coatings. Subsequently, the surface of the wood must be sanded with fine sandpaper, and only then can the impregnating stain be applied. In renovation coatings, it is necessary to remove the old non-adhering layer, e.g., by sanding.

DILUTION: thinner BALTECH S6006 (especially for cleaning tools)

Theoretical yield: 8 - 10 m²/l per coat, depending on the absorbency of the substrate

WORKING PROCEDURE:

Application is performed with a brush on a pre-prepared substrate after thorough stirring of the stain. The product does not need to be diluted, it is supplied at application viscosity. During painting, regularly mix the staining varnish. For use in interior spaces, apply in 1 to 2 coats, while for outdoor coatings, it is advisable to apply three coats, and only in colored shades. Colorless stain is intended for indoor applications. The next layer can be applied after 24 hours. To achieve a uniform highlighting of the wood grain, it is advisable to wipe off the unabsorbed varnish after 10 to 15 minutes of application with a dry cloth or brush.

In continuous surfaces, always apply the product from the same production batch, which ensures a consistent color shade. The final appearance of the shade is influenced by the type of wood, the condition of its surface, and previous coatings, therefore it is recommended to perform a test coat before the overall application. Complaints about color shades will only be accepted if a complaint is made regarding the test area.
To achieve a high gloss, the dried coat can be overcoated with LAZUROL CLASSIC S1023 varnish or a natural color shade of LAZUROL GOLD S1037 stain. For floors, you can use LAZUROL OUTDOOR WALK-ON VARNISH S1020.

Warning: Absorbent materials (rags, sawdust, papers, dust, etc.) soaked with stain must be safely disposed of, as they may self-ignite under certain circumstances.

When working, you will also appreciate covering tools such as protective film or paper masking tape. Don’t forget to also get brushes and rollers.
