Synthetic oil impregnation glaze
CHARACTERISTICS AND USE:
Wood stain S1023 is designed for protective glazing coatings of soft and hardwood, exposed to weather conditions and for coatings in interiors. It protects wood from the effects of UV radiation. It contains natural oil. The wood stain penetrates deeply into the structure of the wood, highlighting its natural grain and thus providing highly effective coatings. It is characterized by very easy renewability of the old coating. Shade 0000 - colorless is intended only for indoor use!!
Examples of use: garden furniture, wooden panels, ceilings, wall and ceiling cladding, fences, cottages and wooden houses, windows, doors, cork, penetration of wooden floors.
PREPARATION OF THE SUBSTRATE:
The wood must be clean, dry, well-sanded, with a moisture content of max. 12%, free of resin residues before application. Wood with a high resin content (larch, pine) must be completely cleansed of all resin exudates, for example, by washing with BALTECH C6000 thinner. The quality of the wood pre-treatment affects the overall appearance of the final wood surface finish and the overall lifespan of the coating system.
The surface of the wood intended for outdoor use must first be treated with a suitable fungicidal impregnant, which ensures protection against fungi, mold, and insects, for example, using LAZUROL IMPREGNATION BASE S1033. The surface of the wood intended for indoor use should preferably be treated with a colorless glaze LAZUROL CLASSIC S1023 first. Penetration with a colorless impregnant will ensure uniform absorption of the substrate before subsequent application of coatings. Subsequently, the wood surface must be lightly sanded with fine sandpaper and only then should the impregnation glaze be applied. In renovation coatings, the wood must be freed from old non-adhering layers, for example, by sanding.
DILUTION: thinner BALTECH S6006 (especially for cleaning tools)
Theoretical yield: 8 - 10 m²/l for one coat depending on the substrate's absorbency
WORK PROCEDURE:
It is applied with a brush after thorough mixing on the pre-prepared substrate. The glaze does not need to be diluted, it is already at the application viscosity. During work, the glazing varnish must be stirred regularly. For indoor use, it is applied in 1 to 2 layers, while for outdoor coatings it is advisable to use three layers, but only in color shades. The colorless glaze is intended for coatings in interiors. Individual coatings can be applied at intervals of 24 hours. To uniformly enhance the wood grain, any excess glaze should be removed with a dry brush or cloth after 10 to 15 minutes of application.
For large areas, always use material from the same manufacturing batch. Using the same manufacturing batch guarantees the same color shade. The type, surface, and previous coating of the wood influence the final color shade of the coat, therefore, we recommend conducting a test coat before the final application. Complaints regarding color shades will only be accepted if related to the test area.
For a high gloss finish, the dried coat done with LAZUROL CLASSIC S1023 can be coated with LAZUROL UNIVERSAL VARNISH S1002 or a natural shade of LAZUROL GOLD S1037 glaze. Floors can be coated with LAZUROL OUTDOOR WALKING VARNISH S1020.
Warning: Absorbent materials (rags, wood shavings, paper, dust, etc.) soaked with glaze must be disposed of securely, as they may spontaneously ignite under certain circumstances.
You may find covering materials such as paper masking tape or covering foil useful. Don’t forget brushes and rollers.
