Synthetic thixotropic wood stain.
CHARACTERISTICS AND USE:
LAZUROL GOLD S1037 wood stain is designed for long-term protective colored transparent coatings of soft and hardwood exposed to weather influences and for interior use, e.g., garden furniture, wooden elements, ceilings, wall coverings, fences, cottages, and wooden houses. It creates an attractive (decorative) protective coating film on the surface of the wood, which emphasizes the wood grain and at the same time strengthens the wood and protects it long-term against moisture and UV radiation.
Key properties:
• long lifespan
• does not run during application
• exclusive appearance
SUBSTRATE PREPARATION:
The wood must be clean, dry, well-sanded, with a moisture content of a maximum of 12%, and free from residues of resins before application. Wood with a high resin content (larch, pine) must be free of all resin exudations beforehand, for example by washing with BALTECH C6000 solvent. The quality of the wood pre-treatment affects the overall appearance of the final wood surface finish and also the overall lifespan of the coating system.
The surface of the wood must first be impregnated with a suitable primer that ensures uniform absorbency of the substrate and higher protection of the wood (in the case of using a fungicidal primer, also protection against fungal attacks, mold, and insects). Subsequently, the surface of the wood must be sanded with fine sandpaper and only then should the thick-layer stain be applied.
For interior coatings, it is advisable to use colorless LAZUROL CLASSIC S1023 as a primer; for exterior coatings, it is suitable to use LAZUROL IMPREGNATING BASE S1033 as a primer.
When renovating, it is necessary to remove old non-adhering coatings from the wood and ensure good substrate strength (when completely removing the old coating, the new coating is applied gradually, including wood impregnation).
DILUTION: diluent BALTECH S6006 (especially for cleaning tools)
Theoretical coverage: 17 m2/1 liter for one layer depending on the substrate absorbency
WORK PROCEDURE:
Before use, shake well. LAZUROL GOLD is not diluted; it is applied with a brush or roller on a pre-prepared, impregnated, and lightly sanded wooden substrate in 2 to 3 layers, the second coat can be applied after 6 hours. Sanding of the previous coat is possible after 24 hours. The coating is done in the direction of the wood grain. Color shades are mutually mixable. The type, surface, and previous wood coating influence the final shade of the coating, therefore it is recommended to perform a test application before the final application. Complaints regarding color shades will be accepted only if a test coat was performed prior to execution and reported to us.
Always use material from one production batch for complete surfaces. Using the same production batch guarantees the same color shade. It is recommended to mix shades from different batches in a larger container before application. The shade of the stain also depends on the number and thickness of the coats (the color samples are developed on sanded spruce wood, which has been treated with 3 brush coats as per the recommended procedure).
This product is not suitable for coatings on floors and wood in permanently moist environments (e.g., saunas), wood treated with oils or waxes, or products containing waxes.
If this product is used on wood with a high tannin content (acacia, oak, larch), it is necessary to perform a test coat first. Due to the high tannin content, slow drying may occur, followed by leaching of tannins and overall impact on the appearance of the coating film.
Toning:
Other color shades are prepared by toning in the TELURMIX tinting system.
You may need covering materials, such as paper masking tape or covering film. Don't forget about brushes and rollers.
