SOKRATES® Wood Stain is a water-soluble stain. It is intended for outdoor and indoor environments, for industrial production, for craft work, and hobby use. It protects wood from UV radiation. It creates a silky gloss, pleasantly soft velvet surfaces. Modified linseed oil gives the stain extreme penetrating properties. The highly hydrophobic stain minimizes moisture penetration into the wood. The surface of the Farmer's paint resists mold and fungus attacks. It prevents further growth into the wooden substrate. The stain dries more slowly. It should not be diluted before use. Only if necessary.

Usage:
SOKRATES Wood Stain is intended for top coatings of outdoor wooden cladding for buildings, pergolas, fences, cottages, entrance doors, windows, etc. In interiors, it is used for coating ceilings, wall cladding, beams in attics, and similar. We recommend preparing the surface of the wood before applying for outdoor use using sandpaper number 80 - 100. NO rotary sander. A perfectly smooth wood surface is not ideal. Although the Farmer's stain is not a special coating material for wooden floors, it is still suitable for coating outdoor walking surfaces with a non-slip texture. For footwear contaminated with sand and similar, a cleaning zone is suitable. It withstands weather influences much longer than oils. The recommended application layer is 2 to 3 coats, depending on the degree of load, exposure, etc.
Where there is a risk of wood attack by wood-destroying fungi due to moisture, we recommend treating the wood with Lignofix E plus, or another suitable biocidal agent before applying the stain. Another biocidal preparation must be tested in advance, and the manufacturer’s recommended waiting time for subsequent application of water-soluble coatings must be strictly followed. Lignofix E plus must have a time gap of 2 days before the stain. Footwear contaminated with sand damages the surface. The contaminated surface must not be scrubbed, especially when wet, with hard brushes. A free drainage of water must be ensured from the surface of the floor. Non-absorbent woods with a high content of tannins prolong drying.
Hard, low-absorbent woods: oak, Siberian pine, Siberian larch, ash, etc. Due to the high tannin content, subsequent slow drying, and the risk of leaching tannins, we recommend applying the first coat of Farmer's stain diluted with water in a ratio of 1:1. After drying – approximately 12 - 24 hours, apply the second and third layers.
With wood species with high tannin content (oak, locust, teak, bangkirai, larch, douglas fir, MERBAU !!!! caution) rain may cause leaching. This can lead to stains on the wood and discoloration of light walls and plasters. Don't forget suitable metal elements – drip edges.
Soft woods: – spruce, lime, alder, etc. SOKRATES® Wood Stain is applied to new wooden substrates 2 to 3 times, depending on the degree of surface stress. When renovating, it is necessary to ensure the careful removal of all previous coatings that may reduce the absorbency of the surface. These surfaces significantly prolong drying, start to soil, and may also be a cause of reduced lifespan. After each use, carefully close the container. Do not leave the container open for too long!
Application:
SOKRATES Wood Stain is preferably applied with a brush, suitable roller, or spraying, while continuously brushing out and at a minimum temperature of the coating, air, and substrate of + 10 °C and throughout the drying period. The recommended temperature for application: + 18 °C to + 23 °C
Diluent: Water.
Cleaning of tools: With water, dried paint can be removed with organic solvents.
