Farmhouse paint - Covering paint based on modified varnish with oil in water. Extremely penetrating water-dilutable covering paint for wood designed for both hobby and professional use in outdoor and indoor environments. Significantly enhances the wood and perfectly highlights the wood texture. It creates a velvety, touch-friendly semi-gloss surface that strongly repels water. Oils provide the paint with excellent penetrating properties while creating a fine, highly pigmented film on the surface that preserves the wood's grain. It is applied directly to raw wood.
The paint contains a combination of UV filters that prevent the degradation of the coating. The surface of the paint film is resistant to mold and fungus attacks, thus preventing their penetration into the wood. Prevents water from penetrating into the wood, reducing its drying out and cracking. Perfect penetration of the substrate prevents peeling of the coating. Linseed oil, in combination with other vegetable oils, prolongs the drying time of the surface. The paint is odorless and neutral in character. The paint is certified for toys and products for children.

Drying:
dust dry in 8 to 6 hours, between coats 1 day.
Application:
Socrates farmhouse paint is applied evenly to a healthy, clean, dry, and sanded surface No. 80 - No. 100 with a brush or microfibre roller in a reasonable layer, which especially during the first coat absorbs perfectly without wiping off the paint. There must always be a reasonable amount of paint left on the surface, which will soak in. Excess, unabsorbed paint should be gradually removed without creating significant puddles! However, the layer of paint must not be wiped and MUST always remain in a reasonable layer. A second coat is applied after the first coat has dried, which is about 24 hours. Light sanding with sandpaper No. 100 - 120 can be done between coats if necessary. Light sanding of the first coat, pulling off the fluff will give you a perfectly smooth, pleasant surface.
In outdoor and humid environments, where there may be a risk of wood being attacked by wood-destroying fungi, it is necessary to treat the substrate in advance with the biocidal product Lignofix E-profi. There must be a minimum waiting period of 48 hours between soaking the wood with Lignofix E-profi and applying the coating material.
You may need protective materials, such as paper adhesive tape or protective foil, possibly sanding papers. Don't forget brushes and rollers.
