ETERNAL mat Revital is a universal silk-matt water-based coating material for indoor and outdoor use prepared from a special crosslinkable dispersion of acrylate copolymers, pigments, fillers, and additives. It creates fairly hard, elastic matte coatings with high weather resistance and excellent blocking resistance even at higher temperatures. It is characterized by very good opacity, good flow, quick drying, and excellent adhesion even to old synthetic and oil coatings. ETERNAL mat Revital meets the requirements of ČSN EN 71 part 3 Safety of toys Migration of certain elements.
Field of application:
ETERNAL mat Revital is intended for indoor and outdoor coatings of wood, fiberboards, particleboards, and cement-bonded boards, drywall, non-walkable concrete, metal substrates coated with anti-corrosion paint, and certain types of plastics (tough PVC, rigid PVC, ABS, polystyrene plastics, Umakart, polyester and epoxy laminates; not suitable for coatings on PE, PP, PTFE). For plastics of unknown composition, a test coating must be carried out in advance. It is suitable for painting window frames and sashes, including plastic windows, doors, door frames, bodies of central heating, school boards, furniture, such as wooden, metal, and plastic chairs, shelves, benches, carpet knockers, playground equipment, etc. ETERNAL mat Revital is suitable for both new and restoration coatings.
Processing:
ETERNAL mat Revital is applied to a dry, perfectly clean, and degreased substrate free of non-adhering particles and residues of non-stick coatings using a brush, roller, pneumatic or high-pressure airless spraying, at substrate and ambient temperatures between 8 °C and 30 °C with a relative humidity of max. 75%. Depending on the chosen application technology, the coating material is diluted with water to a max. of 15% by weight. For application by high-pressure airless spraying, ETERNAL mat Revital is not diluted. It is sprayed at a pressure of 160 bar with nozzle no. 311 or larger (verified on VYZA vario equipment). ETERNAL mat Revital is applied in two to three layers depending on the desired thickness, with a time interval of at least 2 hours (20 °C). At lower temperatures and higher relative humidity, the time interval
needs to be extended. This extension is also necessary for highly absorbent substrates.
Consumption (final coat):
Coating of steel substrates:
Steel substrates must be thoroughly cleaned of corrosion products, mechanical impurities, residues of old loose coatings, and degreased (preferably using a solution of ETERNAL Degreaser concentrate or another suitable detergent followed by rinsing with water). The prepared and dried substrate should be coated with one to two layers of ETERNAL anticorrosive acrylic paint or ETERNAL for metals with an interval of 4 hours between coats. After the anticorrosive coat has dried, apply two layers of ETERNAL mat Revital with a time interval of 2 hours between coats.
Coatings for wood, fiberboards, and particleboards:
The substrate is thoroughly cleaned of dust and mechanical impurities, resinous spots are removed (e.g., by washing with thinner), and the surface is soaked with FORTEKRYL impregnation with protective effects against wood-destroying and wood-staining fungi and wood-destroying insects. In dry interiors, it is also possible to use the penetrating agent FORTE penetral. After drying the penetration, the surface is sanded with fine sandpaper. Fiberboards and particleboards are then coated with one layer of isolating paint ETERNAL In stop to prevent possible penetration of color stains from the substrate into the top coat. After drying the isolating coat, the surface is sanded with fine sandpaper. Two layers of ETERNAL mat Revital are then applied to the prepared substrate with a time interval of 2 hours between coats.
Coatings for concrete surfaces and plasters:
Mineral substrates are cleaned of non-adhering coatings, mechanical impurities, the greasy surface is thoroughly degreased (ETERNAL Degreaser). The dry substrate is impregnated with FORTE penetral, and after it has dried, two layers of ETERNAL mat Revital are applied with an interval of 3 hours between coats. For saturating very absorbent substrates (plasters), ETERNAL mat Revital diluted with water in a ratio of 1:1 can also be used. Mineral substrates must be sufficiently carbonated.
Coatings for cement-bonded boards:
Cement-bonded boards must be sufficiently carbonated. The surface of the boards must be perfectly cleaned of mechanical impurities, non-adhering old coatings, degraded surface layers, and grease. The prepared substrate is thoroughly saturated with a special penetrating agent FORTE penetral. The best way to penetrate is with one coat until saturation of the substrate. Once the dried penetrating agent begins to form a glossy film on the surface, the penetration is finished. After a minimum of six hours from penetration, two layers of ETERNAL mat Revital are applied with a technological break of 4 hours between coats.
Coatings for plastics:
The surface of the plastics must be perfectly cleaned, freed from any residues of old non-adhering surface treatments, adhesives, separators, protective foils, and degreased (preferably using a solution of ETERNAL Degreaser concentrate or another suitable detergent followed by rinsing with water). Glossy surfaces should be lightly sanded with fine sandpaper (No. 360 or finer). Two layers of ETERNAL mat Revital are then applied to the prepared substrate with a technological break of 4 hours between coats.
