Washable wall paint REMAL Vinyl Color Matt is a premium colored washable painting coating with a velvety matte finish, excellent coverage, and abrasion resistance. The surface of the paint is gently washable. The coating is designed for painting walls and ceilings in interiors on plaster, drywall, and other substrates.
The product is easy to process, health-safe, and environmentally friendly. It exhibits washability of the paint with wet abrasion resistance after 28 days - class 1. (measured according to ČSN EN ISO 11998, classified according to EN 13300). Application method: brush, paint roller.
up to 12 m² / 1 kg for one coat.
Old non-adhering coatings in thicker layers should be scraped off. Before painting, treat the surface with REMAL deep primer. This will remove dust, strengthen it, unify absorption, and ensure adhesion. Drying time is 4 hrs. Even out any unevenness on the wall with REMAL filler. For touching up spots, e.g., after leaks, it is advisable to use the isolating coating REMAL Flek-stop. Before use, thoroughly mix the coating; it is diluted for painting. If necessary, dilute with a maximum of 5% clean water. Apply with a short-haired REMAL Vinyl roller. The coating covers in one layer. Touch up at least every 4 hrs. The optimal temperature for application is 15 to 25 °C. Clean contaminated areas and tools immediately after application with water; dried paint is difficult to remove.
Method of applying washable wall paint:
REMAL Vinyl roller with short hair, brush, AIRLESS spraying - e.g., STORCH AIRLESS ST 550, STORCH AIRLESS ST 700 or STORCH AIRLESS ST 800 recommended pressure from 120 – 150 bar, nozzle size 515 or 517, filter in the gun 50 mesh. When spraying, we recommend always conducting tests on specific equipment beforehand.
When working, observe basic hygiene rules. The product is not intended for coatings that come into direct contact with food, animal feed, drinking water, or for coatings of children's toys and furniture. Keep out of reach of children. covering materials, such as paper adhesive tape or covering foil, or sanding papers. Don't forget about brushes, rollers, trimming brushes, and spatulas.
This international standard ISO EN 11998 describes an accelerated method for determining wet abrasion resistance and washability of the paint. Regarding the cleanability of coatings, it specifies only the testing method itself but does not specify contaminants. After drying and conditioning, the painted sample is weighed and subjected to cleaning cycles under wet conditions in a testing abrasion (cleaning) device. The mass loss is used to calculate the average value of the loss of film thickness. For determining cleanability, the specified contaminants are applied to equally prepared samples. The specified contaminants are left in contact with the coating film for the prescribed period. The painted, contaminated samples are then subjected to cleaning cycles. It is assessed whether the contaminant has been removed and if the coating is resistant to wet abrasion.
For assessment, 5 classes are used - class 1 is the best – class 5 is the worst.
