Facade paint REMAL FASÁDA is a modern acrylic facade paint that is easy to wash, breathable, excellently covering, and resistant to weather influences. It is used for coatings of lime-cement plaster, masonry, concrete panels, panels made of lightweight materials, brizolite, particle board, etc.
Properties of facade paint:
- ideal facade paint
- weather resistant
- water-repellent and vapor-permeable
- high covering ability
- easily processed facade paint
- non-toxic facade paint
- environmentally friendly
- washable
Technical properties of facade paint:
- coverage up to 5 m²/1 kg in one layer
- can be tinted with REMAL tinting paint, BARLET tinting paint, or REMAKOL EX-S tinting pastes
- for exterior plasters, concrete, and other substrates
- water-dilutable paint for facades
- application with a brush, roller, spraying
- viscosity 3500 - 4500 mPas (Brookfield HB DV 2+ 4/100)
- minimum content of non-volatile substances 57%
Example of application procedure for facade paint:
General conditions that must be met before applying facade paint:
- repairs with plaster in outdoor environments are not suitable
- old non-adhering coatings must be removed, e.g., with a scraper or pressure water
- older substrates must be assessed, unsuitable ones removed, and repaired with new lime-cement plaster
- new lime-cement plasters must be allowed to cure for at least one month
- the coating with facade paint is thin-layered - it follows the substrate, therefore, it is recommended to sweep or rub off sand grains from the surface after drying the new plasters to prevent the formation of shadows on the unevenly smoothed painted surface
- the temperature of the substrate and environment during work is recommended to be between 15°C and 25°C, coatings cannot be applied in rain, strong wind, or intense sunlight
- windows, metal parts, and gutters must be covered, as dried paint residues are difficult to remove
- substrates must be dry and mature before starting the coatings; it is advisable to check the humidity of the plaster with a suitable moisture meter before starting the coatings
- for larger coatings, it is recommended to use products from the same batch, or mix individual batches together, especially concerning color shades
- the combination of different application techniques (roller + brush) must be pre-tested, especially with saturated shades - the risk of different coloration due to the different surface of the paint
Too absorbent, crumbling, or non-adhering substrates must be pre-treated (hardened) with suitable primer such as REMAL, BARLET, or SOICRAT. In the case of local repairs, when it is not possible to wait 4 weeks for the plaster to mature, after the new plaster dries, treat it with REMAL TELSAL neutralizing salt, and after drying, continue with the aforementioned primer.
Dilute the paint in a ratio of max. 0.05 l of water per 1 kg of paint. Then mix thoroughly. Apply in 2 layers, applying the next layer after the previous one has dried, a minimum of after 4 hours. For cohesive areas, use the product from one batch; mix different batches together before use.
Handling facade paint:
