- content of non-volatile substances min. 57%
Example of application procedure for facade paint:
General conditions to be followed before applying facade paint:
- repairs with plaster in outdoor environments are not suitable
- old non-adherent coatings must be removed, for example, with a scraper or pressure water
- older substrates must be assessed, and unsatisfactory ones removed and repaired with new lime-cement plaster
- new lime-cement plasters must be allowed to cure for at least one month
- the paint application is thin-layer - following the substrate, therefore, it is recommended to sweep or rub off sand grains from the surface after the new plasters have dried to prevent shadowing on unevenly smoothed paint
- the substrate and environment temperature during work is recommended to be between 15° C and 25° C, painting cannot be performed in rain, strong winds, and under intense sunlight
- windows, metal parts, and gutters must be covered, dried paint residues are difficult to remove
- substrates must be dry and cured before starting painting, it is recommended to check the moisture of the plaster with a suitable moisture meter before starting painting
- for painting larger areas, it is recommended to use products from the same batch, or to mix different batches together, especially concerning color shades
- the combination of different application techniques (roller + brush) must be pre-tested, especially with deep shades, due to the risk of differing color tones caused by different color surfaces
Too absorbent, dusty, or non-adherent substrates must be treated with a suitable primer in advance (strengthened) such as REMAL, BARLET, or SOICRAT. In case of local repairs where it is not possible to wait 4 weeks for plaster curing, after the new plaster has dried, it can be treated with REMAL TELSAL neutralizing salt, and after drying, continue with the primer mentioned above.
Dilute the paint in a ratio of max. 0.05 l of water to 1 kg of paint. Then mix thoroughly. Apply in 2 layers, applying the next layer after the previous one has dried, at least after 4 hours. For continuous surfaces, use the product from one batch, mix different batches before use.
Handling of facade paint:
