Washable wall paint REMAL Vinyl Color Mat is a premium colored washable paint with a velvet matte appearance, excellent opacity, and abrasion resistance. The surface of the paint is gently washable. The coating is intended for painting walls and ceilings in interiors on plaster, drywall, and other substrates.
The product is easy to process, health-safe, and environmentally friendly. It shows washability and resistance to wet abrasion after 28 days - class 1. (measured according to ČSN EN ISO 11998, classified according to EN 13300). Application method: brush, paint roller.
up to 12 m² /1 kg for one coat.
Old non-adhering coatings in thicker layers should be scraped off. Before painting, treat the surface with REMAL deep penetration primer. This removes dust, strengthens, unifies absorbency, and ensures adhesion. Drying time is 4 hours. Even out unevenness on the wall with REMAL putty. For touching up stains, such as from leaking, it is advisable to use REMAL Flek-stop isolating coating. Before use, mix the coating thoroughly; it is diluted for painting. If necessary, dilute with a maximum of 5% clean water. Apply with REMAL Vinyl roller with a short pile. The coating covers in one layer. Touch up at least after 4 hours. The optimal application temperature is 15 to 25 °C. Clean soiled areas and tools immediately after application with water; dried coating is difficult to remove.
Method of applying washable wall paint:
REMAL Vinyl roller with a short pile, brush, AIRLESS spraying - e.g., STORCH AIRLESS ST 550, STORCH AIRLESS ST 700, or STORCH AIRLESS ST 800 recommended pressure from 120 – 150 bar, nozzle size 515 or possibly 517, filter for the gun 50 mesh. When spraying, it is advisable to always conduct tests on the specific equipment beforehand.
When working, observe basic hygiene rules. The product is not intended for coatings that come into direct contact with food, feed, drinking water, or for painting children's toys and furniture. Keep out of reach of children. If you do not feel well, seek medical attention. The product is treated with a biocide. It contains a reaction mixture: 5-chloro-2-methylisothiazol-3(2H)-one [EC number 247-500-7] and 2-methylisothiazol-3(2H)-one [EC number 220-239-6] (3:1). It may cause an allergic reaction.
covering materials, such as paper adhesive tape or covering foil, or sanding papers. Don't forget brushes, rollers, spatulas, and scrapers.
This international standard ISO EN 11998 describes an accelerated method for determining resistance to wet abrasion and establishing washability of paint. Regarding the cleanability of coatings, it only specifies the testing method itself but does not specify the contaminants. After drying and conditioning, the painted sample is weighed and subjected to wet cleaning cycles in a testing abrasion (cleaning) device. The loss in weight is used to calculate the average thickness loss of the coating. To determine cleanability, the contaminants are applied to similarly prepared samples. Specified contaminants are left in contact with the coating for the prescribed time. Painted, contaminated samples are then subjected to cleaning cycles. It is evaluated whether the contaminant has been removed and whether the coating is resistant to wet abrasion.
Five classes are used for assessment - class 1 is the best - class 5 is the worst.
