Washable wall paint REMAL Vinyl Color Mat is a premium colored washable paint with a velvety matte appearance, excellent opacity, and abrasion resistance. The surface of the paint is gently washable. The coating is intended for painting walls and ceilings indoors on plaster, drywall, and other substrates.
The product is easy to process, health-safe, and environmentally friendly. It shows washability and resistance to wet abrasion after 28 days - class 1. (measured according to ČSN EN ISO 11998, classified according to EN 13300). Application methods include brush, roller, or spraying.
up to 12 m² /1 kg for one coat.
Old incompatible coatings in thicker layers should be scraped off. Before painting, treat the surface with REMAL deep penetration primer. This will remove dust, strengthen, unify absorbency, and ensure adhesion. Drying time is 4 hours. Level any unevenness on the wall with REMAL filler. For touch-ups, e.g., after water leaks, it is advisable to use the REMAL Flek-stop isolating coating. Before use, mix the paint thoroughly; it is diluted for painting. If necessary, dilute with a maximum of 5% clean water. Apply with a REMAL Vinyl roller with short hair. The coating covers in one layer. Touch up at least after 4 hours. The optimal temperature for application is between 15 and 25 °C. Clean soiled areas and tools immediately after application with water; dried paint is difficult to remove.
Method of applying washable wall paint:
REMAL Vinyl roller with short hair, brush, AIRLESS spraying - e.g., STORCH AIRLESS ST 550, STORCH AIRLESS ST 700, or STORCH AIRLESS ST 800 recommended pressure from 120 – 150 bar, nozzle size 515 or possibly 517, filter for the gun 50 mesh. When spraying, we recommend always conducting tests on the specific equipment beforehand.
When working, observe basic hygiene rules. The product is not intended for coatings that come into direct contact with food, animal feed, drinking water, or for coatings of children's toys and furniture. Keep out of reach of children. If you feel unwell, seek medical attention. The product is treated with a biocide. It contains a reactive mixture: 5-chloro-2-methylisothiazol-3(2H)-one [ES number 247-500-7] and 2-methylisothiazol-3(2H)-one [ES number 220-239-6] (3:1). It may cause an allergic reaction.
covering materials, such as paper adhesive tape or covering film, or sanding papers. Don't forget brushes, rollers, spatulas, and scrapers.
This international standard ISO EN 11998 describes an accelerated method for determining wet abrasion resistance and the washability of paint. Regarding the cleanability of coatings, it only specifies the test method itself, but does not specify the contaminating substances. After drying and conditioning, the coated sample is weighed and subjected to wet cleaning cycles in a test abrasion (cleaning) device. The loss of weight is used to calculate the average thickness loss of the coating. To determine cleanability, contaminating substances are applied to equally prepared samples. Specified contaminating substances are allowed to remain in contact with the coating film for the prescribed time. Coated, contaminated samples are then subjected to cleaning cycles. It is evaluated whether the contaminating substance was removed and whether the coating is resistant to wet abrasion.
For evaluation, 5 classes are used - class 1 is the best – class 5 is the worst.
