Washable paint for walls REMAL Vinyl Color Mat is a premium colored washable paint with a velvet matte appearance, excellent coverage, and abrasion resistance. The surface of the paint is gently washable. The coating is intended for painting walls and ceilings indoors on plaster, drywall, and other substrates.
The product is easy to process, health-safe, and environmentally friendly. It demonstrates washability and abrasion resistance after 28 days - class 1. (measured according to ČSN EN ISO 11998, classified according to EN 13300). The method of application is with a brush or paint roller.
up to 12 m² / 1 kg for one coat.
Old non-adhering coatings in thicker layers must be scraped off. Before painting, treat the surface with REMAL deep penetration primer. This removes dust, strengthens, unifies absorbency, and ensures adhesion. Drying time is 4 hours. Level uneven spots on the wall using REMAL leveling compound. For retouching spots, for example, after water ingress, it is advisable to use the isolating coating REMAL Fleck-stop. Before use, thoroughly mix the coating; it is diluted for painting. If necessary, dilute with a maximum of 5% clean water. Apply with a REMAL Vinyl roller with a short nap. The coating covers in one layer. Recoat at least after 4 hours. The optimal temperature for application is 15 to 25 °C. Clean dirty areas and tools immediately after application with water; dried coating is difficult to remove.
Method of application of washable paint for walls:
REMAL Vinyl roller with a short nap, brush, AIRLESS spraying - e.g., STORCH AIRLESS ST 550, STORCH AIRLESS ST 700, or STORCH AIRLESS ST 800 recommended pressure from 120 – 150 bar, nozzle size 515 or possibly 517, filter for the gun 50 mesh. When spraying, we always recommend conducting tests on the specific equipment beforehand.
During work, maintain basic hygiene rules. The product is not intended for coatings coming into direct contact with food, animal feed, drinking water, or for coatings of children's toys and furniture. Keep out of reach of children. If you feel unwell, seek medical help. The product is treated with a biocide. It contains a reactive mixture: 5-chloro-2-methylisothiazol-3(2H)-one [ES number 247-500-7] and 2-methylisothiazol-3(2H)-one [ES number 220-239-6] (3:1). It may cause an allergic reaction.
covering material, such as paper adhesive tape or covering foil, possibly sandpapers. Don't forget brushes, rollers, spatulas, and scrapers.
This international standard ISO EN 11998 describes an accelerated method for determining wet abrasion resistance and washability of paint. Regarding the cleanability of coatings, it only specifies the testing method itself but does not specify contaminants. After drying and conditioning, the painted sample is weighed and subjected to wet cleaning cycles in a testing abrasion (cleaning) device. From the weight loss, the average value of the thickness loss of the coating is calculated. For the determination of cleanability, contaminants are applied to equally prepared samples. Specified contaminants are left in contact with the paint film for the prescribed time. The painted, contaminated samples are then subjected to cleaning cycles. It is evaluated whether the contaminant has been removed and if the coating is resistant to wet abrasion.
The evaluation uses 5 classes - class 1 is the best – class 5 is the worst.
