The REMAL Effect decorative paint with a pearlescent and metallic effect is intended for the decoration of modern designs using various painting techniques, such as brush or roller application, spraying, sponging or stenciling. By combining REMAL Effect coatings with toning pastes, one can achieve a delicate, noble, and artistic appearance for walls.

Due to the countless combinations, choice of diverse working techniques, and personal improvisation, each result represents a unique and unrepeatable work of art. The optical properties of the decorative coatings (brightness, sparkle, gloss, depth, etc.) are fully showcased through appropriate application. The final appearance is also influenced by the shade of the underlying layer and especially by the lighting. Individual details appear exceptionally striking when light hits them or when viewed from different angles and directions. Working with light and shadow contrast yields a brighter and livelier surface full of freshness.

It is recommended for decorative coatings on all types of mineral plasters, wooden substrates, drywall, etc., in interiors and exteriors. It is suitable for use with decorative rollers, for creating paint lines, and so on. In outdoor environments, use is only possible for short-term applications.

Example of the painting procedure for decorative gloss on the wall:

The substrate must be solid, level, free of cracks, dry, adequately matured, and free of dust, loose particles, and original coatings. It must not show signs of biological infestation (mold, algae). Overly absorbent, crumbling, or
loose substrates must be pre-treated (strengthened) with suitable primer such as REMAL, BARLET, or SOICRAT. Biological infestation (mold) should be eliminated with REMAL Sanal for masonry V1406.

The base coat of the plaster is applied with REMAL or REMAL VINYL paint in various shades. Before application, the paint must be thoroughly mixed. Minor sedimentation is not problematic. The paint is diluted according to the method of application at a ratio of 1 part paint to 0 – 1 part water. Other areas must be protected from contamination. Contaminated spots must be cleaned immediately, as dried paint is difficult to remove. The recommended temperature for application is between 15 to 25° C. The optimal relative humidity is 50 to 70%. Higher humidity and lower temperatures can significantly affect drying speed. For uniform surfaces, use a product from the same batch; mix different batches together before use.

You may find covering material, such as paper masking tape or covering film, or sanding papers. Don't forget brushes, rollers, paint trays, and spatulas.
