REMAL Standard is a classic natural water-based kaolin wall paint. It provides excellent coverage, is breathable, abrasion-resistant, and has a standard whiteness of 82%. REMAL wall paint is used for painting plaster, concrete, drywall, cement boards, particle board, and renovation plasters in interiors. The paint exhibits resistance to wet abrasion – measured according to ČSN EN ISO 11998 – class 5. (classification according to EN 13300).
It is recommended for coatings in utility and industrial spaces. It is used for painting walls and ceilings in interiors on plasters, drywall, and other substrates. It is easy to process, health-safe, and environmentally friendly.
Before painting, remove layers of old and non-adhering coatings. Treat absorbent substrates with REMAL universal primer, and treat non-adhering and crumbling substrates with REMAL deep primer. This will remove dust from the surface, strengthen it, unify absorption, and ensure adhesion of the coating. The drying time is 4 hours. Even out wall irregularities with REMAL Putty. Dilute the paint at a maximum ratio of 0.4 l of water to 1 kg of paint. Then mix thoroughly.
Apply with a brush, roller, or spray in 2 layers, applying the next layer after the previous one is dry, at least after 4 hours. The optimal temperature for painting is 15 to 25 °C. The temperature of the substrate and environment must not drop below 5 °C during application. For continuous areas, use the product from one batch, mix different batches together before use.
When working, follow basic hygiene rules. The product is not intended for coatings that come into direct contact with food, feed, drinking water, or for coatings of children's toys and furniture. Keep out of reach of children. If you feel unwell, seek medical assistance.
The product is treated with a biocide. Contains 1,3,5-tris(2-hydroxyethyl)hexahydro-1,3,5-triazin, 1,2-benzoisothiazol-3(2H)-on, reaction mixture: 5-chloro-2-methylisothiazol-3(2H)-on [ES number 247-500-7] and 2-methylisothiazol-3(2H)-on [ES number 220-239-6] (3:1), okthilinon (ISO). May cause allergic reactions.
covering materials, such as paper adhesive tape or covering film, or sanding papers. Don’t forget brushes, rollers, and spatulas.
This international standard ISO EN 11998 describes an accelerated method for determining wet abrasion resistance and washability of paint. Regarding the cleanability of coatings, it only specifies the testing method itself, but does not specify contaminating substances. After drying and conditioning, the coated sample is weighed and subjected to wet cleaning cycles in a testing abrasion (cleaning) device. The average value of the coating thickness loss is calculated from the weight loss. To determine the cleanability, contaminating substances are applied to identically prepared samples. Specified contaminating substances are left in contact with the coating film for the prescribed time. The coated, contaminated samples are then subjected to cleaning cycles. It is evaluated whether the contaminating substance has been removed and the coating is resistant to wet abrasion.
For evaluation, 5 classes are used - class 1 is the best – class 5 is the worst. Marking like in school.
