Description REMAL Standard high breathable wall paint, 15+3 kg

REMAL Standard is a classic natural water-based kaolin wall paint. It excellently covers, is breathable, abrasion-resistant, and has a standard whiteness of 82%. REMAL wall paint is used for painting plaster, concrete, drywall, cement boards, chipboard, and renovation plasters in interiors. The paint shows resistance to wet abrasion – measured according to ČSN EN ISO 11998 – class 5. (classification according to EN 13300).

It is recommended for coatings of utility and industrial spaces. It is used for painting walls and ceilings in interiors on plaster, drywall, and other substrates. It is easy to work with, non-toxic, and environmentally friendly.

  • for internal plasters and drywalls
  • water-based paint
  • application with a roller or brush
  • whiteness 82%
  • resistance to wet abrasion after 28 days - class 5. (measured according to ČSN EN ISO 11998, classification according to EN 13300)
  • viscosity 4000 - 6000 mPas (Brookfield HB DV 2+ 4/100)
  • content of non-volatile substances 49 - 53%
  • pH 8 - 11

Procedure for REMAL paint:

Before painting, remove layers of old and non-adhering coatings. Treat absorbent substrates with REMAL universal primer, treat non-cohesive and crumbling substrates with REMAL deep primer. This will remove dust, strengthen the surface, unify absorbency, and ensure adhesion of the coating. Drying time is 4 hours. Level out any unevenness on the wall with REMAL Filler. Dilute the paint with a maximum ratio of 0.4 l of water to 1 kg of paint. Then mix thoroughly.

Apply with a brush, roller, or spraying in 2 layers, applying the next layer after the previous one has dried, at least after 4 hours. The optimal temperature for painting is 15 to 25 °C. The temperature of the substrate and the environment must not drop below 5 °C during application. For cohesive areas, use a product from the same batch, mix different batches together before use.

Handling REMAL wall paint:

Observe basic hygiene rules while working. The product is not intended for coatings that come into direct contact with food, animal feed, drinking water, or for coatings on children's toys and furniture. Keep out of reach of children. If you feel unwell, seek medical assistance.

The product is treated with a biocide. Contains 1,3,5-tris(2-hydroxyethyl)hexahydro-1,3,5-triazin, 1,2-benzoisothiazol-3(2H)-one, reaction mixture: 5-chloro-2-methylisothiazol-3(2H)-one [ES number 247-500-7] and 2-methylisothiazol-3(2H)-one [ES number 220-239-6] (3:1), okthilinone (ISO). Washability of paint is practically addressed by the standard WET ABRASION RESISTANCE ČSN EN ISO 11998

This international standard ISO EN 11998 describes the accelerated method for determining resistance to wet abrasion and establishing the washability of paint. Regarding the cleanability of coatings, it only specifies the testing method itself but does not specify the contaminating substances. After drying and conditioning, the painted sample is weighed and subjected to cleaning cycles in a test abrasion (cleaning) apparatus. From the weight loss, the average value of the thickness loss of the coating is calculated. For determining cleanability, the contaminating substances are applied to equally prepared samples. Specified contaminating substances are left in contact with the coating film for the prescribed time. Painted, contaminated samples are then subjected to cleaning cycles. It is evaluated whether the contaminating substance has been removed and whether the coating is resistant to wet abrasion.

For evaluation, 5 classes are used - class 1 is the bestclass 5 is the worst. Grading is like in school.
