Description REMAL Standard Highly Breathable Wall Paint, 1 kg

REMAL Standard is a classic natural water-based kaolin wall paint. It provides excellent coverage, is breathable, abrasion-resistant, and has a standard whiteness of 82%. REMAL wall paint is used for painting plasters, concrete, drywall, cement board, particle board, and renovation plasters in interiors. The paint exhibits abrasion resistance when wet – measured according to ČSN EN ISO 11998 – class 5. (classification according to EN 13300).

It is recommended for coatings in utility and industrial spaces. It is used for painting walls and ceilings in interiors on plasters, drywall, and other substrates. It is easy to work with, health-friendly, and environmentally friendly.

Properties of REMAL white wall paint:

  • traditional Czech white wall paint REMAL
  • for utility and industrial spaces
  • suitable paint for renovation plasters
  • high covering ability
  • highly breathable wall paint
  • easy workability
  • water-based natural paint
  • suitable for children's rooms
  • health-friendly
  • wet abrasion resistance class 5
  • small packaging of 1 kg white wall paint

Technical properties of REMAL wall paint:

  • coverage 13 m²/1 kg in one coat
  • toning REMAL liquid tinting paint or REMAKOL
  • for interior plasters and drywall
  • water-based paint
  • applying with a roller or brush
  • whiteness 82%
  • wet abrasion resistance after 28 days - class 5. (measured according to ČSN EN ISO 11998, classification according to EN 13300)
  • viscosity 4000 - 6000 mPas (Brookfield HB DV 2+ 4/100)
  • content of non-volatile substances 49 - 53%
  • pH 8 - 11

Working procedure for REMAL paint:

Before painting, remove layers of old and non-adhering coatings. Treat absorbent substrates with REMAL universal primer, and treat non-adherent and crumbling substrates with REMAL deep primer. This will remove dust from the surface, strengthen it, unify its absorption, and ensure adhesion of the coat. The drying time is 4 hours. Level out any irregularities on the wall with REMAL filler. Dilute the paint in a ratio of a maximum of 0.4 l of water to 1 kg of paint. Then mix thoroughly.

Apply with a brush, roller, or spraying in 2 layers; apply the next layer after the previous has dried, at least after 4 h. The optimal temperature for painting is 15 to 25 °C. The temperature of the substrate and the environment should not drop below 5 °C during application. Use product from the same batch for cohesive areas; mix different batches together before use.

Handling REMAL wall paint:

When working, follow basic hygiene rules. The product is not intended for coatings that come into direct contact with food, feed, drinking water, or for coatings of children's toys and furniture. Keep out of reach of children. If you feel unwell, seek medical help.

The product is treated with a biocide. Contains 1,3,5-tris(2-hydroxyethyl)hexahydro-1,3,5-triazin, 1,2-benzoisothiazol-3(2H)-one, reaction mixture: 5-chlor-2-methylisothiazol-3(2H)-one [ES number 247-500-7] and 2-methylisothiazol-3(2H)-one [ES number 220-239-6] (3:1), okthilinone (ISO). May cause an allergic reaction.

The washability of the paint is addressed by the standard ABRASION RESISTANCE WHEN WET ČSN EN ISO 11998

This international standard ISO EN 11998 describes an accelerated method for determining resistance to abrasion when wet and assessing the washability of paint. Regarding the cleanability of coatings, it only specifies the testing method itself, but does not specify the contaminating substances. After drying and conditioning, the painted sample is weighed and subjected to wet cleaning cycles in a testing abrasion (cleaning) device. From the weight loss, the average reduction in the thickness of the coating is calculated. To determine cleanability, contaminating substances are applied to equally prepared samples. The specified contaminating substances are left in contact with the coating for a prescribed time. The painted, contaminated samples are then subjected to cleaning cycles. It is evaluated whether the contaminating substance was removed and whether the coating is resistant to wet abrasion.

Five classes are used for evaluation - class 1 is the bestclass 5 is the worst. Grading as in school.
