REMAL Ekonomik is a paint with optically enhanced whiteness, opacity, and high permeability. The REMAL Ekonomik paint is used for painting plaster, concrete, drywall, cement boards, chipboard, and renovation plasters in interiors. The paint is made from natural limes, which allows for multiple layers to be applied. Due to its composition, it enables faster drying. The REMAL Ekonomik wall paint has a whiteness of 94%.
The interior paint for walls and ceilings REMAL Ekonomik is easy to work with, health-friendly, and eco-friendly. It exhibits resistance to wet abrasion after 28 days - class 5. (measured according to ČSN EN ISO 11998, classified according to EN 13300).

Before painting with the universal REMAL Ekonomik paint, remove layers of old and non-adhering paint coats. It is good to treat absorbent substrates with the REMAL universal primer; non-cohesive and crumbling substrates should be treated with REMAL deep primer. This will rid the surface of dust, strengthen it, unify absorption, and ensure the adhesion of the paint coat. The drying time is 4 hours. Even out any unevenness on the wall with REMAL Putty. Dilute the paint at a maximum ratio of 0.2 l of water to 1 kg of paint. Then mix thoroughly.
Apply the paint with a brush, roller, or spraying in 2 coats; apply the next coat of paint after the previous one has dried, at least after 4 hours. The optimal temperature for painting is from 15 to 25 °C. The temperature of the substrate and environment must not drop below 5 °C when applying the wall paint. For uniform areas, use paint from the same batch; mix different batches together before use.

This international standard ISO EN 11998 describes an accelerated method for determining wet abrasion resistance and washability of wall paint. Regarding the cleanliness of coatings, it only specifies the testing method itself but does not specify the contaminating substances. After drying and conditioning, the painted sample is weighed and subjected to washing cycles in a testing abrasion (cleaning) device. The loss of weight is calculated as the average loss of coating thickness. For determining cleanliness, contaminating substances are applied to equally prepared samples. Specified contaminants are left in contact with the coating film for a prescribed period. The painted, contaminated samples are then subjected to washing cycles. It is evaluated whether the contaminating substance has been removed and whether the coating is resistant to wet abrasion.
For the evaluation, 5 classes are used - class 1 is the best – class 5 is the worst. Grading is like in school.
