REMAL Ekonomik is a paint with optically enhanced whiteness, opacity, and high vapor permeability. The REMAL Ekonomik paint is used for painting plaster, concrete, drywall, cement boards, particle boards, and repair plasters in interiors. The paint is made from natural limestone, allowing for multiple layers to be applied. Due to its composition, it allows for faster drying. The REMAL Ekonomik wall paint has a whiteness of 94 %.
The interior paint for walls and ceilings REMAL Ekonomik is easy to process, health-safe, and environmentally friendly. It shows resistance to abrasion when wet after 28 days - class 5. (measured according to ČSN EN ISO 11998, classified according to EN 13300).

Before painting with the universal paint REMAL Ekonomik remove layers of old and non-adhering paint. It is good to treat absorbent substrates with REMAL universal primer, and weak or crumbling substrates with REMAL deep penetration. This will remove dust from the surface, strengthen it, unify absorbency, and guarantee adhesion of the paint. The drying time is 4 hours. Level out irregularities on the wall with REMAL Putty. Dilute the paint in a ratio of max. 0.2 l of water to 1 kg of paint. Then stir thoroughly.
Apply the paint with a brush, roller, or spraying in 2 layers; apply the next layer after the previous one has dried, at least after 4 hours. The optimal temperature for painting is 15 to 25 °C. The temperature of the substrate and the environment must not drop below 5 °C during the application of the wall paint. For unified areas, use products from the same batch of paint; mix different batches together before use.
When working, observe basic hygiene rules. The product is not intended for coatings in direct contact with food, animal feed, drinking water, or for coating children's toys and furniture. Keep out of reach of children. If you feel unwell, seek medical attention.
The product is treated with biocide. It contains 1,3,5-tris(2-hydroxyethyl)hexahydro-1,3,5-triazin, 1,2-benzoisothiazol-3(2H)-one, reactive mixture: 5-chloro-2-methylisothiazol-3(2H)-one [ES number 247-500-7] and 2-methylisothiazol-3(2H)-one [ES number 220-239-6] (3:1), okthilinone (ISO). May cause allergic reactions.

This international standard ISO EN 11998 describes an accelerated method for determining resistance to abrasion when wet and establishing the washability of paint. Regarding the cleanability of coatings, it only defines the testing method but does not specify contaminating substances. After drying and conditioning, the coated sample is weighed and subjected to wet cleaning cycles in a test abrasion (cleaning) device. The weight loss is used to calculate the average value of the thickness loss of the coating. For determining cleanability, contaminants are applied to equally prepared samples. Specified contaminants are allowed to remain in contact with the coating for the prescribed period. Coated, contaminated samples are then subjected to cleaning cycles. It is evaluated whether the contaminating substance has been removed and the coating is resistant to abrasion when wet.
For evaluation, 5 classes are used - class 1 is the best – class 5 is the worst. Grading is like in school.
