Washable wall paint REMAL Vinyl Matte is a premium white washable paint with a velvety matte finish, excellent coverage, workability, and abrasion resistance. The surface of the washable wall paint is fully washable. The paint is designed for painting walls and ceilings in interiors on plaster, drywall, and other substrates. The washable wall paint is non-toxic and suitable for children's rooms.

REMAL washable wall paint is easy to process, health-safe, and environmentally friendly. It shows washability with resistance to wet abrasion after 28 days - class 1. (measured according to ČSN EN ISO 11998, classified according to EN 13300).

Application procedure for washable paint:

Old non-adherent coatings in thicker layers must be scraped off. Before painting, treat the surface with REMAL deep penetration primer. This removes dust, stabilizes, unifies absorbency, and ensures adhesion. Drying time is 4 hours. Level any unevenness on the wall with REMAL filler. For touching up stains, e.g., from leaks, it is advisable to use REMAL Flek-stop isolating coat. Before use, mix the paint thoroughly; it is diluted for painting. If necessary, dilute with a maximum of 5% clean water. Apply with a REMAL Vinyl roller with short pile. The coating covers in one layer. Repaint at least after 4 hours. The optimal temperature for application is 15 to 25 °C. Clean any soiled areas and tools immediately after application with water; dried paint is difficult to remove.

Application method for washable wall paint:

REMAL Vinyl roller with short pile, brush, airless spraying - e.g., STORCH AIRLESS ST 550, STORCH AIRLESS ST 700, or STORCH AIRLESS ST 800 recommended pressure from 120 – 150 bar, nozzle size 515 or optionally 517, filter for the spray gun 50 mesh. When spraying, it is recommended to always perform tests beforehand on the specific equipment.

Handling of REMAL washable paint:

Follow basic hygiene rules when working. The product is not intended for coatings coming into direct contact with food, feed, drinking water, or for painting children's toys and furniture. Keep out of reach of children. If you feel unwell, seek medical help. The product is treated with a biocide. It contains a reactive mixture: 5-chlor-2-methylisothiazol-3(2H)-one [ES number 247-500-7] and 2-methylisothiazol-3(2H)-one [ES number 220-239-6] (3:1). It may cause allergic reactions.

Washability of the paint in practice is addressed by the standard WET ABRASION RESISTANCE ČSN EN ISO 11998

This international standard ISO EN 11998 describes a rapid method for determining wet abrasion resistance and washability of paint. Concerning the cleanability of coatings, it provides only the testing method itself but does not specify the contaminants. After drying and conditioning, the painted sample is weighed and subjected to wet cleaning cycles in the test abrasion (cleaning) device. From the weight loss, the average value of the coating thickness loss is calculated. For determining cleanability, contaminants are applied to similarly prepared samples. Specified contaminants are left in contact with the coating for the prescribed time. Painted, contaminated samples are then subjected to cleaning cycles. It is assessed whether the contaminant has been removed and if the coating is wet abrasion resistance.

For evaluation, 5 classes are used - class 1 is the best – class 5 is the worst.
