REMAL FORTE is a special washable paint for drywall designed for coating drywall boards, which can also be used for coatings of plaster, concrete, cement boards, particle board, etc. in interiors. REMAL paint for drywall is health-safe and environmentally friendly.
Paint for drywall provides excellent coverage, is breathable, washable, and has a high whiteness of 93%. Washable wall paint shows resistance to wet abrasion – measured according to ČSN EN ISO 11998 – class 3. (classification according to EN 13300).
Prepare the drywall with REMAL universal primer or diluted paint for drywall in the ratio of 1 part paint to 1-2 parts water. This will remove dust from the surface, unify absorbency, and ensure adhesion. Drying time is 4 hours.
For filling holes, cracks, and uneven surfaces, use REMAL Filler. In larger cracks, it is necessary to remove loose material, and for filling them, you can use UNIFLEX acrylic sealant for drywall; after it has dried, use REMAL Filler to level. Once dried and sanded, the substrate is easier to cover with paint.
Dilute REMAL Forte paint for drywall in the ratio of max. 0.1 l water to 1 kg of paint. Then mix thoroughly. Apply with a brush, roller, or spray in 1-2 layers; apply another layer after the previous one has dried, at least after 4 hours. The optimal temperature for painting is 15 to 25 °C. The temperature of the substrate and environment must not drop below 5 °C during application. Use a product from one batch for coherent surfaces, mix different batches together before use.
When working, observe basic hygiene rules. The product is not intended for coatings coming into direct contact with food, animal feed, drinking water, or for coatings of children's toys and children's furniture. Keep
out of reach of children. If you do not feel well, seek medical assistance.
The product is treated with a biocide. It contains a reaction mixture: 5-chloro-2-methylisothiazol-3(2H)-one [ES number 247-500-7] and 2-methylisothiazol-3(2H)-one [ES number 220-239-6] (3:1). It may cause an allergic reaction.
The product retains its usable properties for 5 years from the date of manufacture, in the original unopened packaging. Store in a dry place at temperatures between 5 and 25 °C.
Disposal of packaging and waste from paint for drywall:
Dispose of containers with remnants of the product at the location designated by the municipality for the collection of other waste. See section 13 of the product's safety data sheet for more information.
covering material, such as paper adhesive tape or covering foil, orabrasive papers. Don’t forget about brushes, rollers, and spatulas.
This international standard ISO EN 11998 describes an accelerated method for determining resistance to wet abrasion and washability of paint. Regarding the cleanability of coatings, it specifies only the testing method but does not specify the contaminants. After drying and conditioning, the painted sample is weighed and subjected to cleaning cycles in a testing abrasion (cleaning) device. From the loss of weight, the average loss of coating thickness is calculated. To determine cleanability, contaminants are applied to equally prepared samples. Specified contaminants are left in contact with the coating for the prescribed time. Painted, contaminated samples are then subjected to cleaning cycles. It is evaluated whether the contaminant has been removed and the coating is resistant to wet abrasion.
For evaluation, 5 classes are used - class 1 is the best – class 5 is the worst. Grading is like in school.
How often to paint?
Generally, it is recommended to paint approximately every 4 to 5 years. However, if you have small children or pets in the family, for hygiene and aesthetic reasons, it is advisable to repaint approximately every 2 years.
