Washable wall paint REMAL Vinyl Color Mat is a premium colored washable paint with a velvety matte finish, excellent coverage and abrasion resistance. The surface of the paint is gently washable. The coating is intended for painting walls and ceilings indoors on plaster, drywall and other substrates.
The product is easy to work with, health-safe and environmentally friendly. It exhibits washability against abrasion when wet after 28 days - class 1. (measured according to ČSN EN ISO 11998, classified according to EN 13300). The application method is with a brush or paint roller.
up to 12 m² /1 kg for one coat.
Old non-adherent coatings in thicker layers should be scraped off. Before painting, treat the surface with REMAL deep penetration primer. This will remove dust, strengthen it, unify absorbency and ensure adhesion. Drying time is 4 hours. Level unevenness on the wall with REMAL putty. For touch-up painting, for example after water damage, it is suitable to use REMAL Flek-stop isolating coating. Before use, mix the paint thoroughly; it is diluted for painting. If necessary, dilute with a maximum of 5% clean water. Apply with REMAL Vinyl roller with short pile. The coating covers in one layer. Touch up at least after 4 hours. The optimal application temperature is 15 to 25 °C. Clean contaminated areas and tools immediately after application with water; dried paint is difficult to remove.
Method of applying washable wall paint:
REMAL Vinyl roller with short pile, brush, AIRLESS spraying - for example STORCH AIRLESS ST 550, STORCH AIRLESS ST 700, or STORCH AIRLESS ST 800, recommended pressure from 120 – 150 bar, nozzle size 515 or 517, filter for the gun 50 mesh. When spraying, we recommend always testing on the specific equipment beforehand.
When working, observe basic hygienic rules. The product is not intended for coatings that come into direct contact with food, animal feed, drinking water, or for coatings on children's toys and furniture. Keep out of reach of children. If you feel unwell, seek medical assistance. The product is treated with a biocide. It contains a reaction mixture: 5-chlor-2-methylisothiazol-3(2H)-one [ES number 247-500-7] and 2-methylisothiazol-3(2H)-one [ES number 220-239-6] (3:1). May cause allergic reactions.
covering materials, such as paper adhesive tape or covering foil, possibly sanding papers. Don't forget brushes, rollers, spatulas, and scrapers.
This international standard ISO EN 11998 describes an accelerated method for determining resistance to abrasion when wet and establishing washability of paint. Regarding the cleanability of coatings, it only specifies the testing method itself but does not specify contaminating substances. After drying and conditioning, the coated sample is weighed and subjected to wet cleaning cycles in a test abrasion (cleaning) device. From the weight loss, the average value of the reduction in coating thickness is calculated. To determine cleanability, contaminating substances are applied to equally prepared samples. The specified contaminating substances are kept in contact with the coating film for the specified time. The painted, contaminated samples are then subjected to cleaning cycles. It is assessed whether the contaminating substance has been removed and the coating is resistant to wet abrasion.
For evaluation, 5 classes are used - class 1 is the best – class 5 is the worst.
