Description REMAL Plus highly opaque wall paint, 4 kg

REMAL Plus paint is a classic natural water-soluble kaolin wall paint. It has excellent coverage, is breathable, abrasion-resistant, and has a standard whiteness of 86%. REMAL wall paint is used for painting walls and ceilings in indoor areas for painting plaster, concrete, as paint for drywall, cement boards, chipboard, and renovation plasters. The paint exhibits resistance to wet abrasion according to ČSN EN ISO 11998 – class 5. (classification according to EN 13300).

REMAL Plus wall paint is easy to process, non-toxic, and environmentally friendly. The paint is suitable for painting mineral surfaces in moderately stressed interiors, such as walls and ceilings of bedrooms, living rooms, or corridors, but also offices, schools, etc.

REMAL paints are all produced in the Czech Republic, the paints are environmentally safe, and gentle to the environment. All REMAL paints are tintable, where liquid tinting colors can be used, or you can have the paints mixed directly at our stores.

Technical properties of REMAL Plus wall paint:

  • tinting REMAL liquid tinting paint or REMAKOL
  • for indoor plasters and drywall
  • water-soluble paint
  • application with a roller or brush
  • whiteness 86 %
  • wet abrasion resistance after 28 days - class 5. (measured according to ČSN EN ISO 11998, classification according to EN 13300)
  • viscosity 5000 - 7000 mPas (Brookfield HB DV 2+ 4/100)
  • non-volatile substance content 48 - 56%
  • pH 8 - 11

Procedure for REMAL paint:

Before painting, remove layers of old and non-adhering coatings. Treat absorbent substrates with REMAL universal primer, and treat non-cohesive and crumbling substrates with REMAL deep primer. This will remove dust, strengthen the surface, unify absorbency, and ensure adhesion of the coating. Drying time is 4 hours. Smooth unevenness on the wall with REMAL filler. Dilute the coating with a maximum ratio of 0.4 l of water to 1 kg of paint. Then mix thoroughly.

Apply the paint with a brush, roller, or spraying in 2 layers; apply the next layer of paint after the previous one has dried, at least 4 hours later. The optimal temperature for painting is 15 to 25 °C. The temperature of the substrate and the environment must not drop below 5 °C during the application of wall paint. Use products from one batch for contiguous surfaces; mix different batches together before use.

Handling REMAL wall paint:

Follow basic hygiene rules while working. The product is not intended for coatings that come into direct contact with food, animal feed, drinking water, or for coatings of children's toys and furniture. Keep out of reach of children. If you feel unwell, seek medical help.

The product is treated with a biocide. Contains 1,3,5-tris(2-hydroxyethyl)hexahydro-1,3,5-triazin, 1,2-benzisothiazol-3(2H)-one+, octhilinone (ISO), reaction mixture: 5-chloro-2-methylisothiazol-3(2H)-one [EC number 247-500-7] and 2-methylisothiazol-3(2H)-one [EC number 220-239-6] (3:1). The washability of paint in practice is addressed by the standard WET ABRASION RESISTANCE ČSN EN ISO 11998

This international standard ISO EN 11998 describes an accelerated method for determining wet abrasion resistance and washability of paint. Regarding the cleanability of coatings, it only specifies the testing method itself but does not specify contaminating substances. After drying and conditioning, the painted sample is weighed and subjected to wet cleaning cycles in a test abrasion (cleaning) device. From the loss of weight, the average thickness loss of the coating is calculated. To determine cleanability, contaminants are applied to similarly prepared samples. Specified contaminating substances are left in contact with the paint film for the prescribed duration. Painted, contaminated samples are then subjected to cleaning cycles. It is evaluated whether the contaminating substance was removed and if the coating is resistant to wet abrasion.

For evaluation, 5 classes are used - class 1 is the bestclass 5 is the worst. Grading is like in school.
