Before painting with REMAL Expert, remove layers of old and non-adhering paint. Absorbent substrates should be treated with REMAL universal primer, non-adhering and crumbling substrates should be treated with REMAL deep primer. This will rid the surface of dust, stabilize it, unify absorbency, and ensure adhesion of the paint. Drying time is 4 hours. Level out unevenness on the wall with REMAL paste. Dilute the paint in a ratio of max. 0.2 l of water to 1 kg of paint. Then mix thoroughly.
Apply the paint with a brush, roller, or spraying in 2 layers, apply the next layer of paint after the previous layer has dried, at least after 4 hours. The optimal temperature for painting the wall paint is 15 to 25 °C. The temperature of the substrate and the environment must not drop below 5 °C when applying the wall paint. For cohesive areas, use product from the same batch of paint, mix different batches before use.
Follow basic hygiene rules when working. The product is not intended for coatings coming into direct contact with food, animal feed, drinking water, or for coatings on children's toys and children's furniture. Keep out of reach of children. If you feel unwell, seek medical attention.
The product is treated with a biocide. Contains 1,3,5-tris(2-hydroxyethyl)hexahydro-1,3,5-triazin, 1,2-benzoisothiazol-3(2H) -on+, octhilinone (ISO), reactive mixture: 5-chlor-2-methylisothiazol-3(2H) -on [ES number 247-500-7] and 2-methylisothiazol-3(2H)-on [ES number 220-239-6] (3:1). It may cause an allergic reaction.
covering materials, such as paper tape or covering film, or sanding papers. Don't forget brushes, rollers, spatulas, and putty knives.
This international standard ISO EN 11998 describes the accelerated method for determining resistance to wet abrasion and washability of wall paint. Regarding the cleanability of coatings, it only specifies the testing method itself but does not specify the contaminating substances. After drying and conditioning, the coated sample is weighed and subjected to wet cleaning cycles in a testing abrasion (cleaning) device. From the weight loss, the average thickness loss of the coating is calculated. For determining cleanability, the contaminating substances are applied to equally prepared samples. Specified contaminating substances are left in contact with the coating film for the prescribed time. Coated, contaminated samples are then subjected to cleaning cycles. It is evaluated whether the contaminating substance has been removed and whether the coating is resistant to wet abrasion.
5 classes are used for evaluation - class 1 is the best – class 5 is the worst. Grading like at school.
