REMAL Profi is a water-based paint suitable as paint for plasterboard. Due to its specific formulation, it features high opacity and abrasion resistance. It covers excellently, is breathable, abrasion-resistant and has a high whiteness of 91%. It is used for painting plasters, concrete, plasterboard, cement boards, chipboard, and renovation plasters in interiors. The paint for plasterboard shows wet abrasion resistance – measured according to ČSN EN ISO 11998 – class 5. (classification according to EN 13300).
The REMAL Profi paint with increased durability and natural whiteness is a suitable paint for plasterboard not only for offices. REMAL Profi paint for plasterboard is also used as a base for coloring in the TELURMIX tinting system. It is recommended for interior coatings of walls and ceilings, plasterboard, renovation plasters, and other substrates in residential and office spaces. It is easy to process, health-friendly, and ecological.
It is produced in a non-standardized white shade. Designed for coloring in the TELURMIX tinting system. Red and orange shades may be only limitedly colorfast under certain application conditions (unripe substrate with high pH) or conditions in the object (UV radiation) due to the chemical composition of the red pigment.
Before painting, remove layers of old and non-adherent coatings. Treat areas affected by mold with the renovation agent REMAL Sanal on masonry V1406 according to the instructions. Treat absorbent substrates with REMAL universal primer, and treat non-adherent and crumbling substrates with REMAL deep primer. This will eliminate dust, strengthen the surface, unify absorption and ensure coating adhesion. The drying time is 4 hours. For preventive anti-mold effect, it is possible to use REMAL anti-mold deep primer. Level unevenness on the wall with REMAL Filler. For problematic areas (leaking spots, etc.), it is advisable to use the isolating coat REMAL Flek-strop.
Dilute the anti-mold paint in a ratio of max. 0.4 l of water to 1 kg of paint. Then mix the anti-mold paint thoroughly. Apply with a brush, roller, or spraying in 2 coats, applying the next coat of anti-mold paint after the previous one has dried, at least after 4 h. The optimal temperature for applying the anti-mold paint is 15 to 25 °C. The substrate and ambient temperature must not fall below 5 °C during application. Use a product from one batch on complete areas; mix different batches together before use.
When working, observe basic hygiene rules. The product is not intended for coatings that come into direct contact with food, feed, drinking water, or for coatings on children's toys and furniture. Keep out of reach of children. If you feel unwell, seek medical attention.
The product is treated with a biocide. Contains 1,3,5-tris(2-hydroxyethyl)hexahydro-1,3,5-triazine, 1,2-benzisothiazol-3(2H)-one+, octhilinone (ISO), reactive mixture: 5-chloro-2-methylisothiazol-3(2H)-one [ES number 247-500-7] and 2-methylisothiazol-3(2H)-one [ES number 220-239-6] (3:1). May cause an allergic reaction.
covering material, such as paper adhesive tape or covering foil, possibly sanding papers. Don't forget brushes, rollers, spatulas, and scrapers.
This international standard ISO EN 11998 describes an accelerated method for determining wet abrasion resistance and washability of paint. Regarding the cleanability of coatings, it only specifies the testing method itself but does not specify the pollutants. After drying and conditioning, the coated sample is weighed and subjected to wet cleaning cycles in a testing abrasion (cleaning) device. From the weight loss, the average value of the decrease in coating thickness is calculated. For determining cleanability, pollutants are applied to equally prepared samples. Specified pollutants are left in contact with the coating film for a prescribed time. Coated, contaminated samples are then subjected to cleaning cycles. It is evaluated whether the pollutant was removed and the coating is abrasion-resistant when wet.
For evaluation, 5 classes are used - class 1 is the best – class 5 is the worst. Grading as in school.
How often to paint?
It is generally recommended to paint approximately every 4 to 5 years. However, if you have small children or pets in the household, it is advisable for hygienic and aesthetic reasons to repaint approximately every 2 years.
