Washable wall paint REMAL Vinyl Color Mat is a premium colored washable paint with a velvety matte finish, excellent coverage, and wear resistance. The surface of the paint is gently washable. The coating is intended for painting walls and ceilings in interiors on plaster, drywall, and other substrates.
The product is easy to process, health-safe, and environmentally friendly. It shows washability and resistance to wet abrasion after 28 days - class 1. (measured according to ČSN EN ISO 11998, classified according to EN 13300). Application method: brush, painter's roller.
up to 12 m² /1 kg for one coat.
Old non-adhering coatings in thicker layers must be scraped off. Before painting, treat the surface with REMAL deep penetration primer. This will remove dust, strengthen, unify absorbency, and ensure adhesion. Drying time is 4 hours. Level unevenness on the wall with REMAL putty. For touching up stains, e.g., from water leaks, it is advisable to use REMAL Flek-stop isolation coating. Before use, mix the paint thoroughly; it is diluted for painting. If necessary, dilute with max. 5% clean water. Apply with a short-haired REMAL Vinyl roller. The coating covers in one layer. Touch up after at least 4 hours. The optimal application temperature is 15 to 25 °C. Clean soiled spots and tools immediately after application with water; dried paint is difficult to remove.
Application method for the washable wall paint:
REMAL Vinyl roller with short hair, brush, AIRLESS spraying - e.g., STORCH AIRLESS ST 550, STORCH AIRLESS ST 700, or STORCH AIRLESS ST 800, recommended pressure from 120 – 150 bar, nozzle size 515 or possibly 517, filter in the gun 50 mesh. When spraying, we recommend conducting tests on the specific equipment in advance.
When working, adhere to basic hygiene rules. The product is not intended for coatings that come into direct contact with food, feed, drinking water, or for coatings of children's toys and furniture. Contains a reactive mixture: 5-chlor-2-methylisothiazol-3(2H)-one [ES number 247-500-7] and 2-methylisothiazol-3(2H)-one [ES number 220-239-6] (3:1). May cause allergic reactions.
covering materials, such as paper adhesive tape or covering film, or sanding papers. Don't forget brushes, rollers, spatulas, and scrapers.
This international standard ISO EN 11998 describes an accelerated method for determining resistance to wet abrasion and determining the washability of paint. Regarding the cleanability of coatings, it only specifies the testing method but does not specify contaminants. After drying and conditioning, the painted sample is weighed and subjected to wet cleaning cycles in the testing abrasion (cleaning) device. From the loss of weight, the mean value of the loss of coating thickness is calculated. For determining cleanability, contaminants are applied to equally prepared samples. Specified contaminants are left in contact with the coating for a prescribed time. The painted, contaminated samples are then subjected to cleaning cycles. It is evaluated whether the contaminant has been removed, and the coating is resistant to wet abrasion.
For evaluation, 5 classes are used - class 1 is the best - class 5 is the worst.
