Procedure for applying washable paint:

Old non-adhering coatings in thicker layers must be scraped off. Before painting, treat the surface with REMAL deep penetration primer. This will remove dust, strengthen, unify absorbency, and ensure adhesion. Drying time is 4 hours. Level out wall irregularities with REMAL filler. For covering spots, e.g., after leaks, it is suitable to use REMAL Flek-stop isolating coat. Before use, mix the coating thoroughly; it is diluted for painting. If necessary, dilute with a maximum of 5% clean water. Apply with a REMAL Vinyl roller with short hairs. The coating covers in one layer. Touch up at least after 4 hours. The optimal application temperature is 15 to 25 °C. Clean contaminated areas and tools immediately after application with water; dried paint is difficult to remove.

Method of application of washable wall paint:

REMAL Vinyl roller with short hairs, brush, airless spraying - e.g., STORCH AIRLESS ST 550, STORCH AIRLESS ST 700 or STORCH AIRLESS ST 800 with recommended pressure from 120 – 150 bar, nozzle size 515 or 517, gun filter 50 mesh. When applying by spraying, we recommend always performing tests on specific equipment in advance.

Handling washable paint REMAL:

Washability of the paint in practice is addressed by the standard ABRASION RESISTANCE OF WET WEAR ČSN EN ISO 11998

This international standard ISO EN 11998 describes an accelerated method for determining wet abrasion resistance and washability of paint. Regarding the cleanability of coatings, it only defines the testing method itself but does not specify the contaminating substances. After drying and conditioning, the painted sample is weighed and subjected to wet cleaning cycles in a testing abrasion (cleaning) device. The loss in weight is used to calculate the average loss of coating thickness. For determining cleanability, contaminating substances are applied to similarly prepared samples. Specified contaminating substances are left in contact with the coating film for the prescribed time. The painted, contaminated samples are then subjected to cleaning cycles. It is evaluated whether the contaminating substance was removed and whether the coating is resistant to wet abrasion.

For evaluation, 5 classes are used - class 1 is the best – class 5 is the worst.
