Application procedure for washable paint:

Old, poorly adhering coats in thicker layers must be scraped off. Before painting, treat the surface with REMAL deep primer. This will remove dust, strengthen, unify absorbency, and ensure adhesion. Drying time is 4 hours. Level any unevenness on the wall with REMAL filler. For touching up stains, e.g., after leaks, it is advisable to use the isolating coat REMAL Flek-stop. Before use, thoroughly stir the coating, which is diluted for painting. If necessary, dilute with a maximum of 5% clean water. Apply with a roller REMAL Vinyl with a short nap. The coating covers in one layer. Repaint at least after 4 hours. The optimal temperature for application is 15 to 25 °C. Clean dirty spots and tools immediately after application with water, as dried paint is difficult to remove.

Method of application for washable wall paint:

Roller REMAL Vinyl with a short nap, brush, AIRLESS spraying - e.g., STORCH AIRLESS ST 550, STORCH AIRLESS ST 700, or STORCH AIRLESS ST 800 recommended pressure from 120 – 150 bar, nozzle size 515 or possibly 517, filter for the gun 50 mesh. When applying by spraying, we recommend always conducting tests on the specific equipment in advance.

Handling REMAL washable paint:

When working, follow basic hygiene rules. The product is not intended for coatings that come into direct contact with food, animal feed, drinking water, or for coatings on children's toys and furniture. Keep out of reach of children. If you feel unwell, seek medical attention. The product is treated with a biocide. Contains a reactive mixture: 5-chloro-2-methylisothiazol-3(2H)-one [EINECS number 247-500-7] and 2-methylisothiazol-3(2H)-one [EINECS number 220-239-6] (3:1). May cause allergic reactions.

Washability of paint in practice deals with the standard ABRASION RESISTANCE WET ČSN EN ISO 11998

This international standard ISO EN 11998 describes an accelerated method for determining resistance to wet abrasion and determining washability of paint. Regarding the cleanability of coatings, it only defines the testing method itself but does not specify the contaminating substances. After drying and conditioning, the coated sample is weighed and subjected to cleaning cycles in the testing abrasion (cleaning) apparatus. From the weight loss, the average value of the decrease in the thickness of the coating is calculated. For determining cleanability, contaminating substances are applied to equally prepared samples. Specified contaminating substances are left in contact with the coating film for a stipulated period. The coated and contaminated samples are then subjected to cleaning cycles. It is evaluated whether the contaminating substance has been removed and whether the coating is resistant to wet abrasion.

For evaluation, 5 classes are used - class 1 is the best – class 5 is the worst.
