ETERNAL mat Revital is a universal silk-matt water-based coating material for indoor and outdoor use prepared from a special networkable dispersion of acrylic copolymers, pigments, fillers, and additives. It forms relatively hard, elastic matte coatings with high weather resistance and excellent blocking resistance, even at higher temperatures. It is characterized by very good opacity, good flow, quick drying, and excellent adhesion to both old synthetic and oil-based coatings. ETERNAL mat Revital meets the requirements of ČSN EN 71 part 3 Safety of toys Migration of certain elements.
Area of application:
ETERNAL mat Revital is intended for indoor and outdoor coatings of wood, medium-density fiberboard, particle boards, cement-bonded particle boards, drywall, non-traffic concrete, metal substrates coated with anti-corrosion paint, and certain types of plastics (tough PVC, rigid PVC, ABS, polystyrene plastics, Umakart, polyester and epoxy laminates; it is not suitable for PE, PP, PTFE coatings). A test coating must be performed on plastics of unknown composition. It is suitable for painting window frames and sashes, including plastic windows, doors, door frames, bodies of central heating systems, school boards, furniture, such as wooden, metal, and plastic chairs, shelves, benches, carpet beaters, playground equipment, etc. ETERNAL mat Revital is suitable for both new and renovation coatings.
Application:
ETERNAL mat Revital is applied to a dry, perfectly clean, and degreased substrate free of loose particles and residues of non-adhesive coatings, using a brush, roller, pneumatic or high-pressure airless spraying, at substrate and ambient temperatures between 8 °C and 30 °C and a relative humidity of max. 75%. Depending on the selected application technology, the coating material is diluted with water up to a maximum of 15 wt.%. For application by high-pressure airless spraying, ETERNAL mat Revital is not diluted. It is sprayed at a pressure of 160 bar with nozzle number 311 or larger (verified on device VYZA vario). ETERNAL mat Revital is applied in two to three coats depending on the desired thickness, with a time interval of at least 2 hours (20 °C). At lower temperatures and higher relative humidity, the time interval must be extended. Extension is also necessary for highly absorbent substrates.
Consumption (final coat):
Coating steel substrates:
Steel substrates must be thoroughly cleaned of corrosion products, mechanical impurities, residues of released old coatings, and degreased (preferably with a solution of ETERNAL degreaser concentrate, or another suitable detergent followed by rinsing with water). The prepared and dried substrate is coated with one or two coats of ETERNAL anti-corrosion acrylic paint or ETERNAL for metals with an interval of 4 hours between coats. After the anti-corrosion paint has dried, two layers of ETERNAL mat Revital paint are applied with a time interval of 2 hours between layers.
Coatings of wood, fiberboards, and particle boards:
The substrate is thoroughly cleaned of dust and mechanical impurities, resin spots are removed (e.g., by washing with thinner), and the surface is primed with FORTEKRYL primer with protective properties against wood-destroying and wood-staining fungi and wood-destroying insects. In dry interiors, the FORTE penetral penetrating agent can also be used. After the primer has dried, the surface is sanded with fine sandpaper. Fiberboards and particle boards are then coated with one layer of the isolating paint ETERNAL In stop against possible color stain penetration from the substrate into the topcoat. After the isolating layer has dried, the surface is sanded with fine sandpaper. Two coats of ETERNAL mat Revital paint are applied to the prepared substrate with a time interval of 2 hours between layers.
Coatings of concrete surfaces and plasters:
Mineral substrates must be free of non-adhesive coatings, mechanical impurities, and the greasy surface must be thoroughly degreased (ETERNAL degreaser). The dry substrate is primed with FORTE penetral, and after it has dried, two coats of ETERNAL mat Revital paint are applied with an interval of 3 hours between layers. For priming very absorbent substrates (plasters), ETERNAL mat Revital diluted with water in a ratio of 1:1 can be used. Mineral substrates must be sufficiently carbonated.
Coatings of cement-bonded particle boards:
Cement-bonded particle boards must be sufficiently carbonated. The surface of the boards must be perfectly cleaned of mechanical impurities, non-adhesive old coatings, degraded surface layers, and grease. The prepared substrate is thoroughly saturated with a special penetrating agent FORTE penetral. It is best to penetrate with one coat until the substrate is saturated. When the dried penetrating agent starts to form a glossy film on the surface, the penetration is finished. After min. six hours from penetration, two coats of ETERNAL mat Revital paint are applied with a technological pause of 4 hours between coats.
Coatings of plastics:
The surface of plastics must be perfectly cleaned, free from any residues of old non-adhesive surface treatments, glues, separators, protective films, and degreased (preferably with a solution of ETERNAL degreaser concentrate, or another suitable detergent followed by rinsing with water). Glossy surfaces should be lightly sanded with fine sandpaper (No. 360 or finer). Two coats of ETERNAL mat Revital paint are applied to the prepared substrate with a technological pause of 4 hours between layers.
